The numbers have been increasing at an amazing rate over the last ten years or so especially in London. They're ring neck parakeets, they originate from the foothills of the Himalayas and cope well with the cold weather.

Haha, they seem to enjoy living mainly along the Mersey Valley in South Manchester, but perhaps understandably have not ventured west along the Mersey to Liverpool.
Those scousers would probably eat them.

I don't see the purpose of them for pure entertainment.....I agree with what jono said about sancutuaries tho for animals that cant/wont survive in the wild....just as bad are people who buy exotic pets and then release them into the wild because they can no longer care for them....that's just as cruel.....wave
