As the late Chuck Missler once described, it's more of a digital simulation, with a greater emphasis on the things we can not perceive, both within, outside, and greater than our flesh. As he said, we touch a table, but it's the atoms in our hand contacting the atoms in the hard surface that make us feel a resistance. An atom is more space than it is physical material, as is stated.
