Harbal: But one of them is English. It's Laurel and Hardy.
Hahaha you say all that because Winston, originally a liberal, became a conservative. His American mom’s habits finally won Winston over. laugh

Winston must have had a physically big head...

galrads: Why would you have to Rename food? Just curious.
Ice cream could not be ice cream unless full of ice, cheeses had to have been made certain ways to keep there name, a few more things too I will have to go into archives of my mind to find them but non the less true. But that was just small points . Farmers in France got bigger subsidies so our big farms could not compete and went bust. I watched that happen farmers who had just bought new machinery to go into coop,s to sell food crashed with boat loads of debt. Our farmers that survived had to diversify and took holiday let's, took holiday coaches around farms on displays etc.

We will now have to train more young men to farm, build up again to make our own produce cheaper.

Oh what a web us humans weave grin

Can't follow what your saying

In first place Regan New World (1984) order saw UK dump Australia and new Zealand big time and it joined EU, as well British Banks took Icelanders for a ride. EU paid subsidies all over Europe including UK.

If you must fast forward and forget farmers in Europe were paid to feed milk powder back to their cows.

UK ffarmers were also subsidised, with subsidies to farmers totalling £3.19 billion (after deduction of levies) paid in 2010 alone.
These subsidies were mostly channeled through the EU Common Agricultural Policy from member states' contributions. UK farmers received the fifth largest agricultural subsidy in the EU, with 7% of the subsidy, after France (17%), Spain (13%), Germany (12%), and Italy (10%). There is downward pressure on the subsidies and on 19 November 2010, the EU announced a reform starting in 2013

Farmers earns pounds 19,000 a year for growing nothing: For five years, the only 'crop' on 215 high-quality arable acres has been grass. A Nicholas Schoon reported.
For five years they have grown nothing on their 215 acres of high-quality arable land. In return for this inaction, the Government has paid them nearly pounds 19,000 a year.

so what you gunner do educate young farmer how to fill out application for subsideies?

galrads: When Brexit happens, will the dominant slacker youths in England have to get a job or will mum or daddy or some middle eastern church support their chronic lethargic attitudes?
It's ironic that you would sneer at the generation your generation created.
