Jeez, if they're gonna remove the posts of the entire first two pages of a (thus far) three-page thread, why not just delete the entire thread then and be done with it?
Seems a little anti-productive. Like y'all, I can guess who the brown-nosing tattletale is.
Perhaps, but it seems to me the mods pretty well leave us alone to police ourselves -- until some whiney-assed crybaby goes running to them because their feelers got hurt, or others didn't agree with them. Run, go tell the principal.
Removing posts without pulling the thread leaves a message:
We can, we will and this is the sort of thing we will not tolerate.
Walking away from threads which rile us is different from a call to boycott and bury particular threads. The former is managing one's own behaviour, the latter could constitute bullying.
There may be threads that are so destructive we all should walk away rather than support them, but that has to come from individual choice and self-control, rather than group decisions and suppression of others.

jac_the_gripper: I didn't see the original post and the comments that were removed, so I only have the title to go on.
If it was a constructive discussion, then it was perhaps the implications of the title weren't fully thought through.
I still think it was moderated in such a way as to leave a message.
It wasn't a constructive discussion at all. It was designed as a personal attack on a certain user, for flooding the forums. Trying to form a group in order to shun "said" user and the op wasn't dissapointed judging by the comments. Instead of complaining they could have made threads themselves. But then again that would take intelligence

Funny how all that complaining "flooding the fourms" was stopping others from posting. Turns out the moaners have nothing to say other than moan. Come on whiners the stage is clear for your threads
