2intrigued: I stopped believing in Santa when I caught my parents putting the gifts under the Christmas tree but I did question his existence prior to that when I asked how Santa will land his sleigh if there's no snow on the ground...not sure how old I was but maybe around 7 or 8 years old. I can't remember when my son stopped believing in Santa but he never let on that he disbelieved. I never did get everything I asked Santa for and although it was disappointing at the time, it was a good life lesson to me that we don't always get what we want in life.
I remembering asking my mother how is Santa going to get in the house since we didn't have a fireplace. She said he will come through the window.

Well guess what we had when next Christmas came around. She bought one of those cardboard fireplaces to make me think he would come down that fireplace rolling on the floor laughing

My mother decorated the livingroom with all kinds of glittery decorations. There were elves and candles in the windows. My father put Christmas lights up on every edge of the roof and up and down the chimney. We had a Santa and reindeer on the roof, a huge Christmas tree in the livingroom and he even decorated the trees outside.

To this day my son has never mentioned not believing in Santa laugh

He either still believes or he never said anything because of the effort I went to for him

I received way too much every Xmas but as I got older I realised my mother was competing with her best friend who had a daughter.

I think I was about 7 when my Parents told me, and my kids were both about seven when I told them...When I told them I wanted them to be old enough to understand without getting confused, I know my oldest son cried when I told him, but got over it very soon...

secretagent09: Can you answer all three questions? I can only remember two.

Do you remember when you stopped believing in Santa Claus?

Do you remember when your children stopped believing in Santa

Do you remember the Christmas when you got everything you asked Santa to bring you?
1 and 2, no, 3 was the year I got my first electric guitar, I was 14.

Nay, I don't remember anything and also can't remember nice presents.
Normally I got about 50 euro's from my parents, but last year I got nothing from my mother, my dad died last year.

I remember my mother telling my sister and I when we decorated the Christmas three with tinsel that we had to hang it piece by piece so it hanged straight on the tree.

When she wasn't looking we grabbed several strands together and put them in the back of the tree so she wouldn't see it.

In case anybody doesn't know what tinsel is this is a tree decorated with it

I was 12, starting secondary school so she had to tell me. Put me on her knee and my sister 1 year older and told me there was no santy and also the other shock at that age, time of the month.
Well I still remember it all every bit of it
Because I cried all evening lol
Santy still came though and still does

We got very little all year but always smiling on Christmas day happy with whatever we got

My own daughter questioned me since she was 6 and only last year I admitted there was none. Definitely a different generation entirely

I'm sure Chris would be very disappointed if he knew that you told your daughter was no such thing as a Santa Claus laugh

I can see you crying all night because "Santy"uh oh might not come
