It's been 20 minutes now, and the only thoughts I've had that weren't about you, were about your bicycle. hmmm

2intrigued: Well said Bode and there's probably a lot of truth in that but what are your thoughts on the possibility of anxiety being a genetic predisposition?
I'm not sure about that. I think anxiety can be a learned disposition, so parental influences can be quite a factor, but maybe not so much as inherited.
If I were to talk from a Buddhist point of view, I'd say karmic ripening from previous lives has a far greater influence than genetic influence from birth.
But maybe that's a topic for another thread.

Some snakes make great pets. A few species will crawl into bed with you! Got a great story about that.

Thank you for your response and yep, what you say is likely true as well but I'm also inclined to believe that for some, it is inherent because my biological parents had eight children who were all given up for adoption all to different people and of those siblings I've managed to find over the years, they all suffer with some form of anxiety and/or depression. wine

wave

Is there a possibility that your siblings suffer from anxiety or depression as a result of the trauma of separation and 'abandonment' rather than because they have inherited a predisposition? conversing

Any trauma from separation and abandonment could be a part of it but given that the family has a history of some mental health issues, I'm leaning towards it being genetic as there has been research done that points to that possibility. This link explains it better than I can. hug

I get what you mean Intrigued ...

I wonder also how much might have absorbed during the gestation period conversing
There is a school of thought about reversing or altering DNA to heal genetic 'inherited' memory ...
There are recordings on youtube for meditation and relaxation that use the ancient solfeggio frequencies to repair and heal beyond verbal therapy ... each frequency note has a particular property ...
I use them when I do circles or gatherings for healing ...teddybear
