I feel like eating Sushi tonight ( Archived) (38)

I don't use chopsticks for sushi. I eat them with my fingers. First I put some soy sauce on them then some wasabi (ground Japanese green horse radish ) then a slice of pickled ginger.

Funny thing is the first time I ever tried sushi was at a Japanese restaurant in Denver. They had a lunch special 5 items for 5 dollars which had teriyaki chicken breast and California roll. I can't remember what the other items were. I asked the sushi chef what was in the California roll sushi and he made it and explained it in front of me. He put a layer of sushi rice (which is cooled down by putting rice wine vinegar in it) making the rice tasty. Then a sheet of dried sea weed. Then he sliced up some cucumber and carrots in length wise slices putting it at one end and then some sliced avocado and a stick of imitation crab stick made of processed cooked white fish with the outside smeared with a mild red spice. Then he rolled it up with a bamboo mat then rolled the outside in sesame seeds. Served it with wasabi and gari (pickled ginger) on the side. The pickled ginger is pink in color. Of course there was soy sauce as well.

First time I tried Rocky Mountain oysters was in Denver Co. my brother living there ordered them as appetizers at dinner one night. I should have known by the stupid grin on his face then that I was in for something different. They are

I eat tuna from a can, so I'd probably be brave enough to put anything in my mouth.. I've never tried sushi tho..
