Cranky_Geezer: No problem.

Ya know Americans are still capable of making decent movies, but now they are all indies. The studios do not care about quality only dollars.

I would recommend Hirokazu Koreeda (Japanese director). All his films are good: Maboroshi, Nobody Knows, After the Storm, Like Father Like Son, Still Walking...

Also Kankuro Kudo's (Japanese screenwriter and director) films and series are good, some very funny (I like his humour). Some of his films: King of Apology, Go, Ping Pong, Maiko Haaaan !!!...

Some other Japanese films definitely worth watching: Sweet Bean, The Woodsman and The Rain, Tokyo Sonata, Okuribito (Departures), Memories Of Tomorrow, The Taste of Tea, Zatoichi, The Twilight Samurai, Love Letter...

I like bruce lee movies...but i watch them dubbed...cause the subtitles distract from the action.

galrads: Where was it produced and filmed?
part1

part2

part3

Most locations filmed in Sweden, some scenes filmed in Portugal and Spain
Noomi Rapace makes is worth it.
Didn't think the books/story are that great, too much hype.
Still, it sticks out above a lot for its good quality.
Dvd's are on amazon and not that expensive.
Suggest you watch it in Swedish with subtitles. worth it, enjoy thumbs up

In Sweden and in the Swedish language. They have English subtitles and because I spent about 5 months in Norway, I knew some of the words. There was an American movie in English of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but they never made the next 2 movies. There was also an American Movie based on the 4th book by David Lagercrantz called The Girl In The Spiders Web. I have seen all 5 movies.
