How do you grow mountain ash from seed?
Plant the Seed

Plant mountain ash seeds in freshly turned soil blended with acid peat in a partially shaded area in the late summer. Locations with cold winters and altitudes higher than 3,000 feet are preferable, but temperate zones with annual rainfall amounts of 40 inches or more are also suitable.

probably the most valuable timber in Australia would be Red Cedar

Once classified as a distinct species, Toona australis, our Australian red cedar is now recognised as a local variant of the Asian red cedar (Toona ciliata). In its natural habit, large red cedar trees are usually only found in the coastal areas of New South Wales and Queensland, but the species may be much more tolerant than its rainforest habit implies.

Beautiful photo. There are several magnolias in my neighbourhood, too.

I forgot so many trees, including magnolia, cherry trees, plum trees, apple trees...

So many trees! And even more insects! laugh
