Just About Anything & Everything ( Archived) (20)

Good morning friends, pals, etc...I decided to start a thread that just about anybody could find interest in participating in— Write about your current experiences, fun/ fulfilling activities you’re doing to keep the boredom down, etc...

I’ve been creating a couple of small “retro-advertising” type items for my (mostly) vintage kitchen, keeping a journal, riding my bicycle, going down to the beach. Today I’m taking an elderly friend out to the county Fairground municipal center for her vaccine..then I’ll be watching old movies and making a home-cooked meal of salmon and a chef’s salad. I know it may seem mundane, but I’d like to hear about your lives’.teddybear

Rohaan,

That’s so sweet of you to take your friend to get their vaccine.

I’m going to hang out with my family today. We will probably go swimming and later on go for a long walk...

It has been very warm out..I swear summer arrives earlier here, each year.

Enjoy your day..teddybear

Hey there—I see you’re in a “beach town”, too. How is it there? Do you get bad storms, or is your area somewhat sheltered, as Coos Bay is? People there nice? (They are here..) thanks for writingteddybear

I got up late today and flopped around in my dressing gown, and scribbled a few sentences in my journal before a light lunch.

The weather here has gone to wall to wall sunshine for a few days so I suppose I should take advantage of it, the spring flowers are pushing through giving splashes of colour on the lawn.
I can't help thinking we will pay with some horrendous storm,
It's my television evening this evening, all my soaps.
Hardly exciting living but the alternative is worse.grin

Want all to know, however the time spent (6 yrs on this site) & determination of a good person...I found the right person for me. Even if I am much older, we have out history so similar it is uncanny. But so good. Don`t give up. Numbers don`t mean anything when there is a connection.

Howdy Reverend. Congratulations, although belated...I’m Episcopal (“High”) and can remember when women weren’t allowed to be ministers. My current Priest is a lady—very neat church leader..I don’t know about your regional policies, but here in Oregon diocese, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Methodist ministers may substitute and/or serve as “supply - rural” priests in one another’s’ parishes. Do you know what all this means? Not wanting to be condescending, just wondering. Anyway, thanks for serving in the spiritual mission— we SO need you right now. Zillions of blessings...teddybear

I noticed he was AWOL as well, he lives in NI and I am in SW England, so I don't meet him personally, Maybe he wants a break.

Our local library is doing a super job of being accommodating. We can’t go in and browse, but can call them and they’ll find what we’re wanting. Guess what?? They rounded up the three full seasons of “The Crown” (DVD’s) and had them ready. I’m still on the second of four discs in the first season, Phillip is still very dapper, the (two) children are not school age yet, and The King has just been told he has cancer. Elizabeth’s sister has been severely reprimanded for flirting with a married (officer?) “Peter”, and The Queen has privately successfully got the press to be quiet about it..(how different were those days..!) Anyway, I’d wanted the series for awhile, don’t have Netflix or that available on my cable. Each season is priced at $40.00 at Freddie’s or Walmart, so I saved $120.00yay

**learning to survive this crazy, compromising time.....boogers!

Blessings, Lovie—- you’re a real calming factor in choppy waters..teddybear

Slugging away at the usual 9-5, Monday to Friday. Nothing like a divorce to set our financial priorities in order although I just might come out financially better in the long run laugh.
Waiting patiently for the weekend. cheers

I figure I’ve saved about $1345000.00 by staying single..Very, very grateful for the work I had for over 30 years...constant, predictable overtime at very fair rates (time and a half for the first 4 hours, double time thereafter, unscheduled Sunday or holiday automatic double-pay..I once was called in on Christmas Day, on a Sunday, to work a double-shift. I made more money that day than I made for a two- week pay period. Double time x 15 hours x time and a half for 12 hours plus double time Holiday pay for 15 hours. About $127.00 an hour!) I ordinarily worked 3 regular shifts and three double- shifts a week, every week for 18 years of 31.) my retirement is not super- wealthy, but all those years paid off. I’m what one of my sisters’ calls “comfortable”. So what am I doing with my life now? Folk music, trips down to the beach (it’s close by) raising my kitten, today I’m looking at curtains and faux fireplaces...

Moonmist............Congratulations on finding someone who will make your remaining days more enjoyable and happy for both of you.

Sometimes I wonder what my purpose in life is supposed to be, and I came to the conclusion years ago, that it is to try to bring a little cheer into other people's lives. My being on here allows me to perhaps put a smile on someone's face after them reading one of my stupid posts, and if so, then my mission has been accomplished.

Best wishes to both of you and your future together. heart wings
