It's British Pie Week.

I've a couple of boxes of these in. Smashing with some Aldi beans and some "fries to go".

If they've been baking since 1963, why do they need to be microwaved for 4 minutes confused

They certainly aren't " pukka" All pastry and very little filling and the pastry base is like chewing rubber.barf

You have to microwave them so that they can communicate with the chip that the nice Mr. Gates put in our bodies.

Don't you read any of the painstaking, in depth research posted by the "experts" on here?

Granted not the best but they do the job when you're just wanting a quick meal.

Can't be bothered with pre-heating an oven and then hanging around for 30/40 minutes waiting for something to cook.

All this talk of pies has made me hungry now.

Off to nuke/toast something.

I like English pies. I used to get them from Greggs with all sorts of fillings.
And sweet ones too.

But I'm rather partial to a home made (wild) blackberry and apple crumble with cinnamon ...

Greggs. Yay. A gal after me own heart. I've some sausage and bean melts in the freezer. Just waiting for leccy prices to come down so that I can cook them.

Their custard filled doughnuts are brill. Well worth a thread of their own. Some other day maybe.

My late Mum always made steak "the cheap cuts" and cow heel pie. A big one to feed us all. I never realised as a kid that it was actually a cows heel. The same as "tongue" I just thought it was a "name" till I asked my Mum what that round curled up thing was in the fridge. When she told me that it was a real tongue, and I looked at it closely, barf I've never eaten tongue or cow heel since laugh My Dad always used to say, cow heel pie, good for you, it sticks to your ribs rolling on the floor laughing
