epirb: Biden to release more oil from the reserve again , only real long term effect that will have is to reduce oil reserve .
Blah Blah Blah....as if you have any clue about the effect of 1 million barrels of oil on the world market!
You have been blaming gas prices on Biden since he took office. You know so little about supply and demand that you think gas comes from a pump and pipelines will reduce the cost to consumers. Hahhahah!
What a moron! I am still waiting for Newsieland to do something - no anything - to join the coalition of western nations that condemn Russian aggression.
You can run but you cannot hide!

Was that tolerance that DNC members treated two of their members to when they would not support Bidens spending racket .

So after 50 years of being virtually empty, Trump built up our oil reserves during his administration, and low energy prices, to 100% full. It’s called the Strategic National Reserves, and it hasn’t been full for many decades. In fact, it’s been mostly empty. It’s supposed to only be used for large-scale emergency or conflict. Now Biden has just announced he’s going to take what Trump so carefully and magically built, and what will be a futile attempt to reduce oil and gasoline prices. They will soon bring it down to empty again. It just never ends!

There is your lack of economic intelligence rearing its ugly head again!
The US govt. buys oil on the open market at market rates. If the US bought oil during the pandemic when it was $0 a barrel - it would have been a brilliant move. In reality - during the Trump years - the US depleted the oil reserves by 57 billion barrels. Huh! Why was that you say? Trump missed buying oil at the lowest market rate ever! Genius!

Well - as Biden prepares to sell oil at the highest rate possible - the US gets to benefit from the oil market. Genius!

When you get a grip in economics and how prices are affected by supply and demand - maybe you will understand why New Zealand is paying $8 a gallon for gas that the US is selling at $4.50 a gallon.

So, what does the usa do if we find ourselves needing it all of a sudden for the reason it was stored and the oil reserve not there.

The reserve is for emergencies.
There is enough for other emergencies.
Oil has a shelf life - like other products and needs to be rotated.
It's a great time to sell oil. When has the US Govt made money on anything? Now is the best time to sell!

Petroleum or crude stored correctly does not have a 'use-by date'. Stored incorrectly and it's viscosity deteriorate and can even evaporate. The shelf life is a concern in some underground crude storage facilities.

I think the usa has worked out the worst case scenario for storage however. Check it out joe biden jr has his signature on this DOE document when he was a Senator back in 2016.

I said nothing negative but i will here. I would feel better about the usa tapping into the petroleum reserves had potus biden mention how and when it will be replenished.

I'm sure he'll call you and let you know. Now is not the time to buy oil.

epirb: You yanks are a larf . You have a President that chokes supply to drive you away from oil then sends you money to pay for petrol .
I was not aware that 'Murica! was the only country with dishonest and/or incompetent politicians.

Seems the UK and 'Straya are similarly affected....Boris getting fined for violating his own Covid rules, 'Strayan pols refusing to do anything but fund Big Oil/Coal while the effects of climate change threatens 'Straya.

And in Canada...well....Trudy left the local police to take the blame for a Federal-level failure to figure out a timely and rational response to the trucker's protest that left major routes closed, the air of a huge street fest according to some photos, while violence later broke out because some Upper-Class Twits of the Year (#Monty Python sketch) suddenly decided to use force to move the trucks and protestors, while in other locations photos showed cops calmly helping protestors in packing up and cleaning up as the protests reached a gradual conclusion.

Sadly President Biden is joining the late President Reagan on a journey into the undiscovered country. His mind starting to fail, and still believing in failed Democratic policies with a mid-term election (Federal and State legislative seats) coming due, he now pandered to the Americans who insisted fuel would remain cheap so they could drive their over-engined and over-sized vehicle to the grocery store and mall by releasing oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, designed to be available for wartime or disasters. But there are no "petrol relief checks" being issued to Americans at this time.

I see gas prices in Newsieland have come down....now only twice the price of American gas pumps.
Seems you can't see past your own economy to figure out that the world is recovering from a pandemic and struggling to meet the demand of consumers eager to get back to normal.
But go ahead - keep criticizing the Americans. Trolls like you are easily dismissed by all who read your baseless words.
