Can you define 'mind' or at least the one that you believe exists?

If it were your body, one would think that they could control more than 1% of it but we cannot so it seems it really belongs to 'something' other than our ego's need to claim it.

I have been aware long before it became a trend.
I am not discovering the hot water on CS's forums...
If you want to teach people, you can get quailified and do it ...
It is part of my everyday job...I am an old dog...

yawn

Your passive aggressive attitude towards people who have different understanding speaks enough of your "awakeness".
If you had a mind I''d say you are a sociopath, but according to you, you are mindless...
And that makes perfect sense.
Go read the Bible, you may actually learn something.

The truth is simple; it is one, without an opposite.

You are not a body.

And there is no mind; only activities/thoughts/images happening in awareness/consciousness.

When people think that they have to silence their 'mind' in order to meditate or to control their mind they are unaware that you cannot silence what does not exist. An unmeasurable futility.
The mind is mental and the body is physical but the two must learn to live together as one for the survival of the whole.

Surely it's the brain which is an extremely complex organ that controls thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger and every process that regulates our body.

Hence the expression brain dead.handshake

Many believe the mind to be consciousness, or the seat of consciousness. To date, despite massive amounts of research, there has been no conclusive evidence to show how the brain can create consciousness, or where in the brain conciousness is created.

spikkels999: Define Soul...?
Who truly knows the meaning of soul?
Psyche is the Greek word for soul. Psyche or soul could simply be our word for the mysteroous way we experience the movement towards meaning.
The idea of soul might be too vague for many, but we must retain it in order to honour it's ambiguity, even though, whether soul is in fact there is unimportant. What matters is that in certain states we can experience the realm of mystery, which constitutes soul.

Should read "realms" of mystery.

Well, all body functions happen without any mental assertion whatsoever. The greater majority of activities that include more than you have listed, happen automatically with the brain or the mind not doing anything at all. yay
The brain also dies while spirit continues on so brains have little to no association with any mind. Because our eyes are in our heads we tend to think that this is where oir consciousness resides but it has been shown that our hearts have the same neural connections as our brains do. hmmm
