BB_snickers: Well, all body functions happen without any mental assertion whatsoever. The greater majority of activities that include more than you have listed, happen automatically with the brain or the mind not doing anything at all.
The brain also dies while spirit continues on so brains have little to no association with any mind. Because our eyes are in our heads we tend to think that this is where oir consciousness resides but it has been shown that our hearts have the same neural connections as our brains do.
So how would you define being brain dead as happens with humans when machines are switched off . Yes, brain dead is entirely and only a 'body' related thing. When it dies, you do not however. What I did say in my OP is that you are not the body. You are infinite eternal consciousness aka 'spirit' or 'soul'
The fact that we exist beyond the body tells us that our 'mind' or brain has no real function in our existence. We can and do exist without it.
The brain is only there to help the body senses (touch, smell, taste etc) to experience what it will think is physical life. Technically the brain is always dead and does little more than relay neural impulses through the body like a computer. When it stops, everything else stops, so I understand what brain dead means.
When spirit decides that it is done with the body, medical science can only go by brain impulses to decided death of the body has happened.

I think that there is a certain syncopation with body/soul Track but since it is not permanent I tend to put more reliance on spirit. But I do think that the body is a communication device for spirit.------ This thread is Archived ------
