Love is something that finds you. 
You can't buy love. However, I am pretty sure you can rent affection.
The problem with the theory of "giving love", is that when ignored by the honored recipient, it often turns to hatred. That goes for all folks.
The ancient observation remains valid: "Hell hath no fury like a women spurned".
I would like to add this statement from a fictional character:
“If a woman sleeps alone it puts a shame on all men. God has a very big heart, but there is one sin He will not forgive. If a woman calls a man to her bed and he will not go.”
