Anyone interested in finding their Irish Ancestors?
Do you wonder if they may be looking for you?
There is information out there, but all genealogy sites charge fees, and no guarantee they will have any information.
Everyone asking questions anywhere online could help you or some one else.
I write this because so many people looking for their relatives.

Most state archives have access to those pay sites. You can browse them for free.

Don't trust anything you cannot verify. The Mormon's have a huge interest in genealogy. But the data is provided by people with enthusiasm and no attention to detail. So use those sources with an eye open.

If you can verify ten generations back you are rather lucky.

Try Latter Day Saints. (Mormon Church). They are said to have the best access and details. Just a thought....

Hello Will, It's and interesting Thread !
The French are very much interested in genealogy, we can consult many good archives in the towns administrations, but mostly come from the churches presbyteries and also the monasteries, which keep incredibly old archives witnessing of the birth, death, marriage, baptism and so on ....
My Family has been repertoried in those books since about 1500 (we need to go further ..) and i consider it's an exploit, because the archives went through so many wars, revolutions, wildfires etc...

As for the Mormons, i once tried to contact them for a cousin, their answer about that branche of the tree was totally wrong alas, we had to do it by ourselves. They copy tons of archives everywhere, but ignore the local history most of time, so there are issues with homonymes etc
