I must admit, I've never heard Led Zep's cover of Blind Willie Johnson's In my Time of Dying. Released in 1928 it was covered by Bob Dylan on his first album in 1962. I bought the album in 64, it blew me away, sparked my interest in music and set me up for the sixties.
Probably, the best songwriter in my lifetime....

Whilst speaking of The Smiths, I went to a concert last week at Manchester's brand-new Aviva studios. History in the making, the first ever rock concert there, total sell out on both nights they played, 5000 in attendance The Smiths ex guitarist, Johnny Marr, complete with orchestra singing a Smiths song about love, life and 'death'. It really was a very special night indeed.
