Like you I've watched our country swing backwards and forwards True and not always in a good way.As a senior citizen I feel for the next generation growing up in what is now happening across the World in general as my time is slowly running out.I feel sorry for Sunak to be honest .Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Johnson was a real pain covid didn't help then it all fell apart.

Thanks Michael.I can not for the life of me be very sympathetic to the in-sneakers. Stand in that line and show your doku. That is my attitude. Most who is able to get to our shores are the strong ones, the resourceful ones. I'd like to select myself who should get shelter, in their own country. At home. But I'm a dreamer.

On an open Forum such as this it would be very difficult to say what the rest of the U.K. wants to be honest. I can only speak for myself and I actually voted for Brexit but changed my mind later. We have been pouring money out of our coffers at an enormous rate and actually still are ,as import taxes have affected the cost of living. We were a huge financial support to the E.U. prior to joining and are still paying out extortionate amounts of money after leaving so basically a no win situation.
I think most people are also now fully aware of the impact of refugees seeking to live here and it causes tremendous controversy. Politics will always be a bone of contention Grand . One man's meat is another's poison so to speak. We give a lot in aid to foreign countries ,even China ,which is part of our foreign policies.I hate to think just how much is paid out in general and many people object to this when we have so many people on the poverty line and struggling.
I'm in a good position financially but it doesn't stop me feeling empathy for those that are not.
