How often did you hit the 'submit button' and realize you wanted to fix a typo or say something slightly different. Maybe you previewed it, but it got past you.

I would like to have the ability to make corrections or revise comments to forum threads... even if it's a 20 or 30 minute window before it's locked from changes.

What changes do you want in CS?

This should fix it:

A running list of WHO added a like or dislike, so there's no guesswork...

I don't need to know, but I'm sure people who post here often and constantly receive thumbs down might have interest.

Childish behavior in an open forum.
It's like the kids who spray graffiti on someones house.
When they see a camera, they are less likely to be foolish.

It's probably the same people who constantly tag posts with thumbs down and it won't take long before that stops.

If I make a comment and my point of view is in disagreement with others, I would expect a thumbs down or two... but when someone says 'hello, I haven't seen you in a while' and gets 2 thumbs down, there is something wrong... really wrong.

I get thumbs down all the time but I just don’t even care about them. I don’t see why people make it such an issue. The more you rant and rave about it the more you will get. dunno

Maybe it doesn't bother you, but don't you think new members might be understandably bothered by every one of their posts receiving negative responses.? Maybe it's one of the reasons the numbers have reduced so dramatically on here and why we see very few new members.
Why admin cant see this and remove the thumbs down feature remains a mystery to me.

It’s not as if the forums are being flooded by new people so no I don’t see the problem. I just don’t care at all about the thumbs down.

Yes, you've already said that, but maybe some people are more sensitive than you. Maybe potential new posters see the negativity and think, no, not really for me.
Let me ask you. Can you see any positivity coming from the thumbs down feature the way it is being used at the moment?

New people don’t come to the forums cus they take one look at the age of the posters and don’t want to bother.
I notice you don’t ask for removal of the thumbs up also. Is it because you want everything going Your way.

No, thumbs up are postive, make people feel better. Let me ask you something else. Are you one of the people thats giving a thumbs down to vitually every post, regardless of the content?

Surprised this one hasn't been mentioned (or did I miss it?)
Many of us have trolls who follow leaving one-liner abuse in our own blogs.
Of course we can delete their comments, as I regularly do, but that's a bind.
We should be able to exclude them or make them invisible to ourselves,
as an extension of the block feature for email.

On topic, do you think? And did you think the comment actually made any sense? Perhaps you did! I doubt you have actually visited any of my threads, and if so never left a comment either memorable or forgettable.
