As the worlds inhabitants are, in theory, just six steps
away from each other or "six degrees of separation"
I just want to send all my brothers and sisters a
biiiiiiiiiiig hug.

Do you find it comforting that we could be so close?
or
are you tortured by the idea?

I find it comforting to be so close to so many good people...

And then I think, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer....uh oh help

Yep, it has to be both for me as well...

I'd rather not influence them...

"Stare not long into the abyss, for you will find it staring back at you."-Nietzsche paraphrased...

I know they're out there...somewhere...and thats where they need to stay...

according to Nietsche tragedy was as an affirmation of life
and he declared that heaven was missing all the interesting
people.

so do we have to accept the bad in order to view the good?

Both good and bad are value judgments and sometimes defining anything or anyone as one or the other is open to debate.

While Dahmer, Bundy et al could certainly be classified as having some exceedingly anti social habits (by general societal standards at least) we live in a world where much being done in the name of 'good' can be considered very bad indeed. Actions ordered and directed by humans.

How do we judge?

I like to remember the saying "When I am pointing a finger at someone else, there are three fingers pointing back at me"

I think we need to accept.

great point BB

how can we know what is good or bad?
when we "do good" how can we know it is good
for that person or the world?

it seems to me that a lot of the concept of good
and bad has come from organised religion down
the ages.

looking round the world it seems to be continuing
with all kinds of bodies trting to impose their will
or their idea of good.

why is it people in general find acceptance difficult?
and do you think a time of acceptance is far away?

I also find it hard to believe that "A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend" describes the global population.

I was talking to a friend today about being fair and "doing the right thing".

He talked about how many people had done him wrong .

But he said he still tries to treat others fairly and kindly.

I know when I am kind, generous and fair, it makes me feel good.

If others treat me poorly, that's up to them.

I do believe that what goes around, comes around.

Lemme put it this way: I've never met a celebrity, and you're the first person I've met who has.

(Not even Kevin Bacon! laugh )

So to answer your question, I've never met any of the peope you mention and have no interest in meeting them.
