So, I'm getting ready to watch a reality TV show, the Bachelor. What cracks me up about these shows (and I've watch several seasons of this and similar shows) is how these women do anything to get this guy's attention. They talk about how he's perfect for them and how they are falling in love with him.

THEN they're elimated from the competition. Why is it that so many of them say (not so much this season so far) that "He wasn't my type anyway" and then slam him with a ton of negative things?

Do you suppose its all for TV ratings or these girls are all manipulative women looking at the guy's bank book?

Kind of ruins it for the rest of us, who honestly mean what they say. I've went a bar here once, in kind of a ritzy area, where most of the women basically want to know three answers to questions: "What do you do for a living?", "What does your bank balance look like?" and "What do you drive?". From what I know from a guy friend that works at that bar, it's a common thing there....

Are there that many gold digging shallow women in the world? I'm proud of who I am and the fact that I've gotten the things I want on my own with my hard work. It's makes me appreciate the things I have in my life.

My view on reality shows are they are a load of crock. Filmed on location maybe. But that is the end of reality. Yeah the film crews and presenters and gophers and other extras required for filming are gonna suffer like everyone else.

Yeah right. They're all actors and all on contract.

I have been in that position myself, thought i met someone who liked me for me etc....sadly it wasnt the case.....and its a really hard bitter pill to take.

Reality is some people will do and say anything to get what they want.

Sadly people dont come with a sign over their heads saying their a thief or a scumbag, so its a case of buyer beware and hope for the best......and if your really wealthy, get a prenup!laugh

What you need is real reality.

No ratings, nor ruins.

If you want the real answers to your questions, take them to someone who cares to answer "what they drive".

Until then, turn off your TV and welcome.

well I think in some cases the girls are just emberassed on national tv so they lash out and say things that arent true.

But then again, how fast can you fall in love with a guy when youre sharing him with 10 other women? confused

Either way, Im not into reality TV either. It is so fake. That takes all of the fun out of it for me. sleep

I think it's utterly hilarious that anything so obviously staged is referred to as "reality" television.

Folks...you can bet your sweet asses that virtually anything you see on TV* is NOT reality. It may have started out that way, but by the time it gets to your brain it's more like "processed reality food."

In fact...

...that could be used as a way to weed out people you don't want to date.

"Do you like reality TV?"

"Oh yea! Watch it all the time!"

"That's great. Excuse me, but I have to go floss my cat."

Next...
