Ugly dogs need love too. As for Ellen and her dog. She put on to much of a fuss on tv about it but the adoption agency used her fame for their gain. By taking the dog back they got their names out in the news. Good or bad they will prosper from the cruel treatmant of that little girl whom they took the dog from. Shame on them.roll eyes

i know there was a contract & rules are rules.........BUT, so what if the girls were 11 & 12, the dog got a good home. It just sounds like the pet adoption is saying kids under 14 cant be responsible for a pet. But 14 & over can. BULL!

They wanted to use Ellen to promote their program. They didn't expect the uproar. I bet if Ellen made a huge donation to them financially, or the family paid the adoption fee of ..what do they get now... $100 or $ 200. now a days. I feel that Maws for Paws or whatever they call themselves did a great disservice to all other adoption agencies.

Angels for Animals here in Ohio is a great group of people. They do have that rul also but they would have first evaluated the family, and they don't have that stupid age rule.

Don't blame all animal rescue and adoption agencies for this ones bad behavior.

Ellen paid $3,000.00 for the dog. Ellen should get her money back. As for the suppose death threats to the pet adoptions agency, Is the women who runs it telling the truth & doing as you said Candio, trying to to get ppl to side with her. Just cuz she says she is, dont make it true. The adoption place has the attention now & milk it for what its worth.thumbs down scold

Well I know in the *terms and cons*... she wasn't meant to re home the dog.

But I do think the agency are being very stubborn and pig headed by not even going to view the (hairdressers) family to see if they would be suitable. Its seems clear they love and want the dog..

I think the agency are just trying to make a point, and being unreasonable.

$3,000 I had not heard that little bit of news. That makes it even worse. These people have a lot of nerve to charge that kind of price to adopt an animal. Do they feel that you are not going to be a good home unless you can pay that kind of money. That really gets my goat. SHAME ON THEM!!!! very mad very mad very mad They need to be investigated and probable shut down.

I think she paid 3k for getting work done on the dog, as I recall. Health/physical problems. Of course, if "W" would approve "healthcare for all"....maybe the dog could have slid in under the SCHIPS program.

Ellen is such a strong person & to see her cry, made me want to cry to. I love that women & her show. Ellen can bring a smile to your face or make you simply laugh. I read on another site in a post where the adoption agency shouldnt have let a lesbian adopt a pet. What does that got to do with it? very mad dunno scold

I feel the same way about it. She seems like such a strong, good hearted person.. the kind of woman who lights up a room with her smile, such a positive spirit.. it was truly heartbreaking to see her in tears like that :(
