I don't think it is necessarily fear of rejection....I assume most or all of us have had that happen to us in some way. But because of that we tend to be cautious about relationships...especially ones that we think might be important and sometimes we may end up playing it a little too slowly for fear of being thought pushy.

In honesty i have to say... i always let people on here know how i feel about them.
Whether in forums or direct email i do say exactly what i think.
As of yet it has brought me any success or even an honest reply...
So i have come to the realization that I'am truly as ugly and worthless as my Ex-wife continues to tell me...
Not sure where you are going with this...
I have spoken out many times and said in forums not to hide anything...
But as i send out these unsubtle hints (OK direct writtings) Alas i have had no REAL response only some jovial or no response at all.
Not that I'am upset about it i just assume the way it will always be...
So i have settled with the idea that i say my honest feelings and expect nothing not even someone to take the time to reject me... Those not interested never reply.
I have given up looking also due to my personal Life, Job,children,daily issues that seem to arise constantly.
I have found noone would want me for anything but a helping hand to them or someone to do what they may need.
Plus i have found many profiles claiming that someone of my personality type was exactly what they seeked but never a response....
Honesty is what i have always offered No Lies,No Games,No BS... and seem to be getting nothing but in return...
So i guess i need to just give up
Oh and i have thought very hard about it...
Even to add up the numbers from all singles sites i have been on in the last year....
Over 2,500 emails sent
About 60 replies
30 where scams for either money... or to join more sites (Still money)
10 of those came to find out husband or boyfriend present
20 left...
10 flat out lied about themselves... not even close to what profile said, physically,mentally,financialy etc etc.
5 who stopped writting before any chance of meeting.
4 who accidently(on purpose) sent me an email intended for someone else...
1 which i did meet and dated , to find she was bi-polar and abusive to everyone including her children...
alcohol issues and she moved into my house uninvited after 3 dates... i came home from school and work there she sat on my porch with a yard full of furniture....., i had to take my children and move into my parents home to get rid of her...
So there it is and my feelings have always been known from day 1 to all of these...

I agree!!! Take the chance...I did.
Even though it didn't work out, I am so glad I did take the chance. She lived 650 miles away, but my life has become so much the better for taking that risk.

I did it...I took a chance and it didnt work out but I will never regret it.. and I think the fact that it didnt work out has led to something else

If you like someone on here in a romantic sense, regardless of distance, race, age, and even gender........let them KNOW about your feelings.
Let them know TODAY as tomorrow it could just as well be too late. Don't let miscommunication be the reason for letting someone slip through your fingers. TAKE THAT CHANCE GUYS!!!!!!!!!!
It might be the wisest decision you've made in your life. Forget about being shy and reserved, stop being afraid of rejection. You will get over it IF (not when) you get rejected.
