Don't worry about the Chinese or Russians. At the end of the day, huge sums of money are at stake and their respective wealth will increase hugely...pragmatism will reign there I feel.

But Islamic radicals...that's a different story all together. They don't care about anything but their twisted view holliness and the resulting jihad.

Expect anything from Bush...he's got nothing to loose.

Are you forgetting that Islam is a religion of peace? They keep trying to convince us of that anyway. FYI; Muhammad's wife was 6 years old when he married her. Men of Islam are supposed to emulate him.

Saudi law is not totally Islamic though Leo...it was just a peculiarity within their culture and system of law.

Yes, it's true. Also when one muslim nation has bad leaders they tend to incite the other leaders of muslim nations. They follow suit not because they are doing it in the name of religion but because they all believe they should be like 'others' like them.

Religion and Politics

A powerful and scary combo

I don´t think it is the Islam The Islam isn´t a religion of violence.
I think the governments of these country's reinterpret the Koran for their own purposes and to hold their power over the country.
That make they no others as many monarchs in history of Christianity, which had took the bible and used their words for wars.
The Christians had a few century's ago the woman downtrodden too. And trough the inquisition no one could have an own free opinion.

I think we make often the faults to mix up the mistakes of governments with Islamic religion. I know many Islamic people who adjudge these governments for the things.

In Christianity you can also find fanatics, in the past and also today. But that dosn´t makes the whole Christians bad.

I for myself was also shocked about the woman who get lashed. And I had also made a tread about it. But I was shocked about the laws of a country, not of the religion, because I know that the Islam isn´t a religion who finding these things good.
Just my opinion.
