Everything has its start and its end, between both we see there are evolutions, but also the opposite, nothing has any neverending time for living, this is life, not paradise.
I don't thing it is meaningless. Evolution is to improve oneself with every generation. And we all have a meaning. With our actings and the consequences of it we are learning and got wiser. And this helps us to teach the generations after us. We all leave one's mark of ourself. be it in our children, in our actings or speakings, someone is writing a book or making a artwork or something else. And all these things will influence the humans in the future. Our words and our acts in our whole life have a lasting effect on different person who we have met.
How does a god give our lives meaning? How does the length of time we live give our lives meaning (you mean, our lives would be meaningless if they were 100 years versus 1000? Why?). Why is how we came to be relevant to the meaning of our lives? Wouldn't it be who we are that provides us with meaning, not how we were created or otherwise came into existence?
That's just one way of looking at things. Evolution by natural selection isn't random and when I think that every single one of us, and indeed every living being on this planet, are the latest links in chains that stretch back unbroken for billions of years I'm just blown away in awe of it. The odds against any of us existing are stupendous and yet here we are, so I aim to love and live life as much as I can while I can. And as for meaning, I'm with Fellfrosch on this, and Monty Python ... wanders away whistling....
