living with someone brings out all the good and bad things in all of us, merely chatting only allows you to see the best in each of us........if we are so perfect why are there so many failed partnerships?
Online we are all perfect....we can be who we want to be, make it up as you go along.....that's why we don't want to meet in real life....because then you have to deal with reality.....that's why online dating is pie-in-the-sky.....and we're all wasting each other's time.....what do you say to that, huh?.....

The existentialist in me does not see wasting each others time as,....well...as a waste of time. In fact I love wasting my time, I,d just love to be wasting it in the arms of a beautiful woman.
You caught my mood exactly......let's put it into perspective......online dating compared with real-life dating, is like comparing playing a game of soccer to watching it on TV.....watching TV is superficial, vacuous, and is going to turn your brain into broccolli if you do it all day, every day.....savvy??....please make the analogy....
It's up to people to turn "on line" into reality!!
That's the point....just like TV, it's easier to be a passive veiwer, than to partake......that's the crux of my argument, why the majority of online relationships will ultimately fail when translated into real-life......because online is fantasy time, and in that sense, a whole lot easier than reality.....
Good point Lago. Course I don,t have any probs with my own reality (subjective tunnel of perception) it,s other people,s " reality" which is the problem.

Well I've been in touch with someone from another site for the past 2 weeks, we've ecchanged facebook and moved on to regular email and I sent him my phone number tonight, and if the conversations continue to go well I'm inviting him for a visit, he's only 90 miles away sooooo some of us are in it to meet someone face to face... and yes he knows my real age

Actually you can get it back Lago,you virginity that is,or at least women can. Saw it advertised in some American plastic surgery mag.
I don't know... I think we have some control over it, I did find myself becoming quite cynical for a while... didn't like how I was acting so I made the decision to be more open, I'll never have the naivete back, but I am more open and hopeful. I guess you just have to be ready to be a fool again and not worry about it
