Once again I must cry out in gentle angst. It sucks getting old when you feel as young as any age you've ever been. The wrinkles come, the body feels the miles, yet the mind remains static when viewing and communicating with all ages. I remain flattered by the attention offered me by so many young and brilliant women. Thank you for that.
I have loved and I have been loved. Likely enough to see me through.
For the younger singles; learn about yourself, grow. Leave the past behind. We create our own reality, and sometimes we project that reality onto others in order to make them "Fit", our paradigm.
I thought that was a good point, Paws: "...when you feel as young as any age you've ever been." The strange thing about getting older - at least for me - is that you don't feel old. And when you avoid mirrors like the plague, you can almost convince yourself that you are still young. I never expected that...but in a way, it makes sense: your sense of yourself is basically timeless - you contain all parts of your life, including your youth, within you.

You know, to me, the aches and pains and wrinkles and gray hairs, are all worth it to me, to know more and be maybe a little wiser than I was 30 or 20 or even 10 years ago. You could not pay me to be young again if it meant I'd have to go through all the mistakes again that got me where I am now.
I'm not talking about you here Leo, or anybody else on this thread or even on CS, but people I've known personally in my life. The saddest people I've ever seen are people who grow old without ever growing up. Even sadder are those who don't get a chance to grow old, because they wouldn't grow up.
Getting old ain't so bad, it just means you're still living.
