Reading threads on here for a while now, it seems some have really big issues with a woman, or Hillary, becoming president, claiming she's this that and the other....
What's so wrong with her???
I don't see her as any different than men that has been there before her...
Is she really that intimidating? Is it because she's a woman??
Quite a few countries have had female heads of state, and it hasn't bothered the people there, something about the right person for the job at the time...
So this makes me wonder, why this hate and nastiness???
I have asked this question, repeatedly. And never get a serious answer. The may be some questions about some of her associates, but NO politicians advances with clean hands. The best most can come up with is Bill Clinton. Though they choose to be blind about all he did for this country. They concentrate only on his morals. Hillary has done nothing wrong, and yet people will not say why they dislike her.
I don't like her...but I don't dislike her, either. I am very ambiguous about her. Of those running, I think she is the best choice. But I am only choosing the lessor of the evils.

Thanks, you kind of hit the nail on the head here I think...
But I still want to know whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??
Power hungry?? What a laugh!! ALL POLITICIANS ARE POWER HUNGRY!! That's why they are politicians. A politician that is not power hungry has a different vocation...waiter, or dishwasher, or trash collector. It's the hunger for power that makes a politician successful..DUHHH!
Daddy...President
Brother...Governor
Self..two term president........and you say the Clintons are power hungry???
Notice this!! No one has yet answered Oslo's question!! the rhetoric keeps coming in...but no intelligent answers!! They have no reason, that is why!! One person has stated that she is power hungry...but no response to all politicians being power hungry!! A statement to tell of her good points was all that could be conjured up when asked why she is hated.
The fact seems to be...people don't like her. But they can't even say why!! seems pretty infantile to me!!
Oslojente: My question was all this hate I see on here about her, I don't get it...
What has she done that's so terribly wrong??
Other than being a woman perhaps, to some...
Her "dislike" ratings hover right at 50%. That won't get you elected regardless of how much $ you have. Fortunately, there's enough lemmings to follow her that she's making the Dem primary interesting.
She wants us out if Iraq ASAP. Also says she will support our friends around the world.
We have friends in Iraq and she would leave them to both AlQueada of Iraq, influences from Iran, and the various Cleric militia that are there. So? Can you have it both ways? Hillary says you can. I am not so sure. I am not so sure a lot of US friendly Iraqi will not lose thier lives with Hillary's or Obama's withdrawl. It happened in Vet Nam when we withdrew there.
Universal Health Care. Would be a socialized kind of program under our Health and Human Services Agency of the federal government under Hillary.
Why cannot the states solve this problem? Why does it have to be a Federal Government agency? When she attempted to get this passed under Bill's term....the legislation was 2000+ pages long. That that make for user friendly medical insurance coverage?
Large gov't. Hillary is a large gov't liberal. Wants large agencies and with large budgets to support them.
That mean tax hikes. Or cutting DoD budget. Or some combination. Raising taxes during recessary/inflationary times is not advised by most economists. It takes money out of the consumer hands and positions the country for a major recession.
I could go on here. Into the NSA foreign wire tapping program, to changing our pre emptive strikes policy against terrorist with corrosive diplomancy (what ever that is?).
I don't hate Hillary. But before I support her or any one for president, I want to know thier positions and policies. What are the consquences of them? Where does that improve the country?
It is easy for person outside the country to say....bring on a woman or afro american into the position of President. Yea for equal rights. Yea for woman's rights. You don't live here or do you face the same situations that we do that do. And guess what.....you don't vote here. As far as I see, you have a right to a opinion.
That is lot like the question of who is 'most commited' between hens and pigs making a breakfast? The hen supplies the eggs, while the pig supplies the bacon, obiviously the pig is more committed.
It is both our right and our obligation to know these running canididates prior to supporting them. That is a key part of our process.....to you it seems hateful. Historically, I can show you other nominations and elections that make this one seem like a cake walk. During the years of our countries yellow journalism of the 1920/30s.
At thier level of politics, all is fair. Because when that one person get to the oval office, he/she needs to be ready to be commander in chief and chief administer of the United States of America.
Did you happen to catch Hillary Clinton's "Hanoi Jane" impersonation over the weekend? At least in the case of Fonda, she was simply a stupid American movie star manipulated by an evil regime to further their agenda. Sort of like Sean Penn in Iraq early this year. In Clinton's case, foreign policy is allegedly an area of expertise for her, and she's instead manipulating herself. As a member of the United States Senate, no less! How comparably heinous is it for Clinton to demoralize our own troops during a time of war to their faces? At least Jane had youth, ignorance and passion to fall back on as her excuses, though she really never owned up to her crimes. Our Senator from New York -- and future presidential candidate -- doesn't have such mitigating factors on her behalf.
The big bash is tonight. I'm talking about the gathering of anti-Bush elites in Hollywood, in case you weren't invited. Of course, I was invited, but can't make it: I'm spending the evening on more important pursuits, such as cleaning out my fish tank. Those involved in the event aren't bothering to veil the subject matter: Hatred of George W. Bush. Not disagreement, not challenges, not areas of concern or debate. We're talking outright enmity of the Philistines-versus-Israelites variety. The great and reassuring aspect of such a momentous affair is this: When hatred and name calling is the primary order of business, very little will actually be accomplished. Sure, everyone will leave feeling good about themselves.
American Soldiers were fighting and dying in the Vietnam War, Jane Fonda, the daughter of Henry Fonda, was using her money and influence at colleges and universities to gather support to advocate communism and encourage rebellion and anarchy against the United States Government.
On November 21, 1970 she told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." At Duke University in North Carolina she repeated what she had said in Michigan, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism. " Washington Times July 7, 2000
Jane Fonda began her participation in anti-war activities around 1967, allegedly after meeting with Communists while in France and with American citizens who were revolutionaries. Her activities included active participation in demonstrations, rallies, radio broadcasts and plays.
Jane Fonda also helped in the organization of a production group called the F.T.A. (F*** The Army). This group helped to set up coffee houses near military bases where they would perform anti-war derogatory-type sketches for the visiting soldiers. The coffee-house sketches were intended to counterpoint the U.S.O. shows, such as Bob Hope and other U.S.O. sponsored performers whose performances increased morale and gave positive support to American soldiers. Some of the F.T.A. coffee house employees would mingle with the soldiers to help them to "relax and unwind", while encouraging the soldiers to desert. Some soldiers alleged that they were promised jobs and money by the F.T.A. if they deserted.
The Vietnam Veterans Against the War Organization received major financial support from Jane Fonda. Jane Fonda's F.T.A. coffee houses helped in recruiting soldiers and veterans for the Vietnam Veterans Against The War Organization. The Vietnam Veterans Against the War Organization membership was approximately 7,000 at it's highest. The Organization's membership number was comparatively low, when you consider that more than 2 1/2 million Americans served during the Vietnam war.
Jane Fonda personally sought out returning American soldiers from Vietnam to solicit them to publicly speak out against American atrocities against Vietnamese women and children during her broadcasts. North Vietnamese officials based in Canada allegedly coordinated her broadcasts.
Jane Fonda EARNED her name Hanoi Jane and now she is at it again.
This picture is Jane Fonda, sitting with anti-aircraft shells that are ready to be used to shoot down American planes by Jane Fonda's foot.
