As an outsider looking in I must say I have never seen more passion and involvement than I have seen in the weeks building up to Malta's election this coming Saturday. The 2 previous weekend rallies and the crowds already gathering for this afternoon's final rally were/are awesome.

Many countries could learn something from the spirit and involvement shown from the Maltese voters.

Good luck on your elections, may the best candidate win. cheers

It's all very civilised now....... in the good old bad old days (just three decades ago) in Malta they'd burn coffins depicting people they didn't like and even the local Bishop said anybody voting for a certain party would be excommunicated from the Church.

Ok, so I'm a citizen of the EU and I love Malta, but I still feel I should not get involved in local politics even if I've been here, on and off, longer than at least 100,000 Maltese as I'm getting to be so frigging old... however, I'd LOVE to stand as a local MEP (Member of the European Parliament).....all those lovely expenses and stuff - yum! yum! thumbs up

Yes, I had heard in the past it got really rowdy and sometimes violent. I guess that's happened everywhere where elections are held at some point in time.

I would be curious to see what their voter turnout rate is. I can imagine it would be quite high.

Politicians have no choice but to apply the EU law now. Otherwise Malta will start paying hefty penalties. Tax payers are not happy about subsiding the hunters' hobby. Why should they? So there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

The horns will scare the birds away and spare a few avian lives. :D
