riyablossom: Sad but true , we live in a world where certain things or ideas are considered as norms , ethical and good. So, when one steps out of those norms , it is considered otherwise and hence the upholding of such views.

I am not saying it is not good to have norms etc. But just an observation on how society functions. Mainly cos i think monogamy should come as an expression of commitment from within and not be the mere adherence of society's rules.

People undoubtedly will loose the spark and get bored after a while in a marriage or a relationhip which has been for years but the love and desire to be with this person keeps one from going astray.

As for the spark , it can be revived while one continues to stay faithful .

stefonline: Humans mate for reproduction......

yes we do but it is supposed to be within a constructed environment, meaning that it is has been discussed planned and the little surprises that come along will be dealt with so there is a plan, hopefully, ideally

KingLeo: The ONLY species that is WHOLLY and ABSOLUTELY monogamous is an intestinal worm that attaches itself to it's mate.

Not quite true, my friend!! There are very few indeed but there are some others, including swans who mate for life. And there is a specie of antelope in Africa which actually lives its entire life not venturing more than a few feet from its mate. Now, that's devotion, eh??

Experts are right in saying that most ppl in marraiges cheat but i think this is mainly due to ppl getting married too soon before really knowing the person, or they feel pressured into marriage even though this might not be for them.

And the whole thing about primal impulses some guy/girl came up with that to make themselves feel less guilty about chaeting on someone we're human beings not animals we should be able to control our impluses, and if the person happens to be married eh hello . . . u have a wife/husband take your impluses out on them ur suppose to be attracted to them.

Ofcourse ppl question there marriage i find it hard to believe if u have been in a marriage for twenty yrs say that its bound to have its ups and downs, but the point of a marriage is u realise why u got together and that u both mean far more to each other than a stupid argument etc

we as human beings desire monogamy because we like to think there's that one person out there that will love us no matter what, that there is someone that will be there for when u need them the most and for when u shut out the rest of the world its just the two of u alone in ur own little world :P

KingLeo: So experts are saying that nearly half of everyone married has cheated.

Of course some of it has to do with that people think/feel that they are not getting all that they desire from their marriage but another part of it is supposedly that as creatures we are not meant to copulate with just one mate and may often feel driven or compelled to act on some primal impulse.

Many married individuals admit they have had numerous occassions of when they have questioned their marriage.

¿So why do we so idolize the desire for romantics and monogamous relationships?

i do not

Law of nature and as old as time............

Women needed men to be there to provide for progeny for at leat 25 years.

In a woman's psyche nothing has changed there that I know of.

Monogamy is a relatively recent invention and has as much or more to do with the financial system and economies. Society would break down if we kept swapping partners due to the constant splitting of assets etc... I am not an advocate for anything other than monogamy btw. I just remember studying these issues at university and it was quite interesting. Yoss x

one was that i do not belive i can find her in CS forums

that could lead that i might find her in CS forums

there is nothing better than go back hoome and get a warm hug and a long loving kiss from my beloved one
that worth all the battles i have every day (as a better way to express myself for lack of words)
