i dont hear ppl saying anything about length of membership except when sometimes 'new' ppl are a bit inappropriate speaking on personal topics regarding other members
i would have something to say if anyone thot it was ok to discuss or comment on someones relationship, esp. someone they dont even know.
if it were claire, joanne, lola, whomever- its not ok- i mean in the world its not ok-is it? its also against CS policy
im sure im not explaining what i mean very well i just think sometimes when we try to suggest a 'better behavior' to someone-or someone newish-it often becomes misunderstood.
other than that its kind of a bummer that ppl say behind the scenes they believe someone behaved unkindly-but wont say anything in forum-unless maybe its a more '________person- fill in the blank-helpless/gentle/???
but this is also like real life-what can ya do?
but believe me some here today have no idea the quantity or quality of members that arent here anymore. blame is a little useless but being welcoming today is attainable...
As far as attacks go, If you can not intelligently back up your arguement and resort to trying to belittle someone because you have no more "ammo" for your debate, then you make yourself look weak and open yourself up for attack...IMO
Don't post something and then run away without defending your platform, and don't start an onslaught of a member because you don't agree with them.
I attack when provoked. I defend other memebers when they are attacked. And I'll shut you down as quickly as possible. I find it funny when they start in on someone, but when the tables get turned, they resort to foolish name calling...THAT'S the point where I make them Irrate. Makes them look foolish to everyone around them.
It is a dullard who speaks his mind without listening to anothers opnion or answering a simple question about his/her stance. And yes, I can ask you a question that is impossible to answer without making you question your belief on a subject. (That's the spirit of a debate) But if you can't answer intelligently, say so.
But state your opnion. And remember it's an opnion, it may not be right. To say yours is the only true one also opens you up for attack.
Don't try to look high and mighty. I'l be the first one to call you out on that.
mindfful: how bout the odor? does it cement the similarity?

sounding 'high and mighty' is perception isnt it 'high and mighty' to think we are the arbiters of it?
if people relied on what they DO know about each other or waiting to get to know someone a bit before relying on these perceptions there might be more conversations
Well I for one am tired of it...I know I have taken part and am not taking part anymore because all this back and forth solves nothing...I will just choose to ignore it from now because I find it makes me feel very negative and that's not me...So back to normal programming for me regardless...I would like to see the forums get back to being a happy and fun place to be and am willing to do my part to make that happen!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tend to agree with you Hugs. I stepped into some events yesterday and quickly stepped back out. It sometimes seems wiser to say nothing than to inadvertantly add fuel to the fire... Thats the lesson I have learned over the past few months...practicing it is the difficult part....

I agree...and have never done so up until the last little while...now I'm stepping back out...

If some people would speak in a way that is more easily understood, rather than spewing hate with endles haiku rhetoric..then it could be possible.

The internet is VERY easily misunderstood. The more I delve into it the more I realize this. I just about got my butt handed to me by a lady I admire and respect not more than a minute ago all due to a miscommunication mainly on my part. Trying to be cute and funny came off hatefull to some.... silence can be golden....

wow
its just always ok to be a jerk to me isnt not criticising people about basic things whats been discussed so much lately? but somehow compassion is reserved for a select few
heres just a suggestion if ya dont like haiku or even know what rhetoric is and have decided you dont like either you are always free to skip over my posts
i think whats been discussed is not behaving like this?
but hey what do i know? apparently not enuf to inspire basic human respect.

you do have a number of 'interesting qualities' but i wouldnt list hateful among them.
i dunno what all went on here yesterday i see 'something' mentioned around today in the forums but i wasnt here and would appreciate not being bickered at every time i sign in
good grief when did this become the atmosphere at CS?
