In order to make up to you for my part in our (Erika’s) April Fools’ joke, I’d like to share some info on surviving a heart attack.
How to Survive a Heart Attack When Alone
Let’s say it’s 6:15pm and you’re driving home (alone, of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset, and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about 5 blocks from the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught you the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every 2 seconds without letting up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
I’ll also tell you that my uncle had a heart attack, alone, when driving. He pounded his chest until he got home, his kids gave him an aspirin and called paramedics and he survived.
Having said that, let me also say that when my mother had her fatal heart attack, she did not have any of the normal symptoms. We thought it was a bad stomach virus and the doctor told me that with women, a heart attack often presents itself with stomach problems.
oslojente: My father died of one in november, not that he was much of a father, but I agree, it was in really bad taste...
I so agree - I was really worried and even in tears at one point for what somebody I like must be going through, her family too - I actually experienced the death in my own family of a very beautiful young woman and it opened wounds which I would rather not have had to deal with................

Yes I know trish it brought it all back about your daughter and what they thought was a "joke" (cruel as it was) has hurt a lot of people, as for that kind of humour I can live with out , as I lost a very close friend six years ago through a heart attack
dcj22: The joke was on a thread. Whether you liked it or not. I don't care.
I put thid thread on here to educate people. Keep it separate.
Im sorry DCJ, but death is never, ever, ever - a joking matter - joking about death is one of the most insensitive things ever - and to compound this insult by saying "you dont care" - well, that actually does say lots about you...................
you say you put the thread to "educate people" Im sorry hun but grief was never helped along by arrogance or ignorance of the depths of pain experienced by those who lose a much loved 'one'
Please guys....we're sorry....just let it go...just don't post here anymore....Let this one go too...
I understand what u said T, and we didnt wanna open wounds, I have received many mails and I feel so lucky people DO CARE, you have no idea. It was NEVER our intention to hurt anybody. We are sorry we did.

Well, I didn't see the thread, but I get the gist..... your apology is very gracious!!
