I have been and it was great,
You get a lot more people who are actually serious, dont get all of the games that you get on the free sites and-- you dont get the people with multiple profiles / usrenames like you do on a free site, because they would have to pay again for each one.
Bad thing was.. they kept taking $$ from my back account for months after I canceled out, had to fight like hell to get my money back.

Yep, been there, done that...I agree with the guy above that said you tend to get people who are more serious about actually finding someone. Here, and a lot admit it, they're 'just here for the forums' or something like that, which is fine. You don't get that on the pay sites though...though, like here, you get people looking for different things - dates, long term, to get laid...whatever.

Nope never was on a paid site. From what I hear of people that have isn't any different then the free sites.

Some good points there, other than your bad experience with the money aspect.
The ones I have personally checked out, I feel, have not been anything like as good as this one. And some of them have seemed truly awful. I just figured why pay for something that isn't as good...??

One... and it was complete crap... the only decent function was the email,... there was these 'winks' which I never figured out and he IM didn't work, plus there was no forums so no real chance to get to know anyone and make friends... I find it harder to express myself through email.. especially if I don't know someone.. It was cheap at €20 per month.. but still a TOTAL waste of money... plus it was so hard to cancel ur subscription..
Also I went to a 'get together' once and it was hilariously bad... the atmosphere was like a 1950's village hall.. the men on one side looking terrified... and the women on the other looking bored and wondering if anyone was EVER going to come over and say hi...I left after 20 mins.. so perhaps it picked up.. I just wasn't bothered sticking around to find out.. I did meet some lovely ladies though and had a nice chat/piss take
