of kids.......i'd appreciate an opinion on somethng. my 4 yr old loves sleeping in my bed with me. he likes to watch tv for a while and drift off. now i haven't a problem with this at all - in fact i love having him there to give me a cuddle and hear his stories. my ex however, does have a problem. she thinks he should be in his own room with his brother and that i shouldn't encourage him. does anyone elsee see this as a real problem? should i insist he sleeps in his own bed?

My daughter sleeps with me and always has. She has her own room, but when it's time to go to bed, she goes with me and the dogs...and so far, she's turning out just fine...conversing conversing

Yikes, I just Googled it...Scary stuff...

BUT, I've had a dog sleeping with me on and off since I was a kid. Seriously, I've never suffered any problems....Hopefully, our luck will still hold out... Thanks for the heads up.handshake hug

All 4 of my kids (2 girls n 2 boys) went through a period of wanting to sleep in mom's bed at one time or another. Never was a problem and was not a problem breaking them of it either......they just sorta outgrew it themselves.

I even used to shower/bathe with my kids. Had to stop with my oldest son when he was about 3 tho......he looked up at me innocently in the shower one day and said 'Is that yours?'................rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

i've always had my pets sleep in my bed too and while it's never harmed me in any way, i have now stopped the cat from sleeping there. particularly as my 4 yr old is there a couple of times per week. i'm sure in my own mind that he'd be safe enough but if there's a risk then i'll never subject him to it and leave it in the lap of the gods. just thinking here ,the only problem you may encounter about your son sleeping in your bed is your attachment , the day he decides he doesnt wanna share duvet space with you is the day you will realize hes all grown up .i personally think its a great way to bond with your kids ,and hear there ridiculous snores laugh my boy shouts stuff in his sleep like "chips" or "get the cat" rolling on the floor laughing plus hes a gymnast and duvet hogger rolling on the floor laughing

Aaawww nooo.. I think that's fine for ages yet..

If you had 'someone' living with you.. then yeah maybe it shouldn't then be EVERY night.. but as it stands.. I think that's fine. They grow up SO fast.. and in the not TOO distant future.. when he is taller than you.. you will be wondering where the time went.
