Thinking I got lucky...e-mail I got.. ( Archived) (24)

I was on a site and seen a local girl and said hi and maybe we could get to know each other....
When I got mail back, I was happy, even waited to open it, thinking what to say.....when I opened it, the air was let out of my balloon. .................
I want to know is this letter rude or is she telling it like it is..I think she being honest but a little insulting...What do you guy's think,,,shoot away. the truth needs no defense.

Thanks for your sweet e-mail. I'm afraid I don't see any interests in common, And quite frankly, I usally go out with men who are more educated. Good luck in finding someone who is better suited to you!!

I don't think she insulted you. I think that somehow you side stepped a pile of crap, and you should feel grateful of that.

While I respect her efforts to be nice about letting you down, I really don't think it was at all necessary to mention the 'education' thing... she could have stopped short of mentioning that and still got the point accross very effectively...


Dunno ... people baffle me sometimes.. do they have no empathy.... I am sure if someone.. say with a couple of Phd's or something said that, she would have been offended and possibly humiliated.. JMV

Nah, wat da heck.....so she's a bit sniffy about your resumé....any skin off your nose??...nada....I wouldn't even spend a second sweating over it while I delete her with a deft click of my mighty mouse....

...and hey!...at the end of the day, it is the lady's prerogative to accept or dump...and she at least took the time to write ya...right?.....maybe you should write her back and send her some links to grammar school......pipple are usully impressed wid dat sorta ting....

Yes, I agree--not only was she rude, but she showed her own lack of education with that spelling/typographical error. Education comes in many ways and some of the best is by life's experiences and not classrooms. It was good luck for you though. I think you're better off without that one. Someone with more education would have put more tact into her note and said she didn't see much in common and left it at that, or better yet (because sometimes opposites with nothing in common attract) she could have just said sorry, I'm not interested but best of luck finding your special someone. Or, she could have tried to at least add some levity and said something funny, but it seems her lack of concern for your feelings showed through famously. Look elsewhere....better luck next time.
