BTW... Having learned some of MyLife's story, I am filled with awe at some of you and the many things you have overcome. There's a lot to be said for that, too! It's definitely not all bad!

BnaturAl: Would depend on the reasons I guess. people who are willing to move are either one of tow things... trying to get away from something, or looking for something new. One running from, the other running to ... the former causes some suspicion for me..

How about the two just wanting to be together, when they have finally found someone to share their life with. Not everyone is running from something. Maybe true wanting a new life if it has become a totally bore.

Sometimes it's just a matter of personal choice without the drama. In my case, I no longer have anything keeping me where I am and the house is too much maintenance for one person. To me, it's an opportunity and I'm looking forward to it. I have some ideas where I want to be, but I'm going cross country before I decide. Not running to or from anything - just moving on

BnaturAl: Just trying to understand here. You've essentially said you went from 'weak' to 'tough nut' because of experiences, yes?. Does this mean you are given to extremes of either nature?

Interesting, question there Bnatur. I have weak moments, I am human, but what I tend to do is to take those moments and embrace them, so I may cry, I may go underground, but those moments are becoming rarer. I have my vulnerabilities, I cry at sad films, but not much gets me down. If I have a problem, I deal with it, I never used to deal with it and would sit and worry and bury my head in the sand, I would never tell people if I had a problem, therefore that caused bigger problems and they just never went away, now I deal with it, I hold my hands up and I say that I need some help.

In response to:

I have experienced women in a 'mans' world, and I am not by any means pidgeon holeing anyone, but my experience is that they become much 'tougher' than men in those positions. Maybe because they have to prove themselves or that they feel they do.

I think you are right, I lead a large team, I am pretty tough, but I am approachable, I am a kind person and will do anything to help a person out, I am a believer in reform, forgiveness, but if the report is not on my desk when I requested it, then I do not want to know why, I want to know when.

In response to:

Do you think, being that assertive and or 'tough' scares some men off?

Some men yes, but I do not think I have scared anyone off, I have been alone for well over a year, at my own behest, this has been good for me, so I have never put myself 'out there' so to speak. Here, if I see a man that I like I will approach him, simple, I do not make it complicated. I see no reason to emotionally turn myself into knots because I am concerned of will he contact me or not.

In response to:

The converse would be men who are more passive and women finding them lacking because their tendency is to want a 'tough' man who holds their world together.

You have hit the nail on the head there, but that theory swings both ways, not just for women.

I want a man who will take the lead, put me in my place, is on my wavelength, who I can support, who will support me, inter dependent as opposed to co dependent. Knowing that we are a partnership, yet we can survive without each other, if we had to.

Interesting conversation though, don't you think?

Maybe I'm stumbling over the term "running," as it implies something negative. I think the fact that I'm giving myself two years to decide means I am deliberating more than running. It's a great big world out there, and I'm kind of excited to see where we end up...

But I'm thinking you understand me anyway...
