Ocee35: You know how people buy stuff, because they think it will make other people think better of them...
It's kinda like that.
It couldn't be just that. There is more to it
Couple of years ago there was a period of time when I got very thin due to stressful circumstances and those same men who before looked right through me like I didn't even exist and those who used to maintained just a warm friendship with me all of a sudden started looking at me in totally different way. It might sound ridicules but it's true. As if the difference between 135 pounds and 112 pounds provides a woman with a better personality or a more pleasant smile or something? men

aww, well it sucks you had to go through a rough time in your life just for them to notice you, but if you were already 135 pounds(which is thin) and they didnt notice you, then damn! theres no hope for me..lol..
how about if I'm the dr. and you're a nurse patient....of course i'd have to check your heart rate and my stethoscope is broken so i guess i'd have to just lean in close to you and listen with my ear!!!!!!!

there is always hope like ppl said before - you don't want that (shallow) type of a man... even though it could be a majority
I was in a good stable relationship at that time and was not interested in anyone else BUT it still a very valid observation

Kryssi34: Why Are There So Few Of You That Us Thicker Women? When I Say Thicker, By No Means Do I Mean Fat or Whatever, I Literally Mean Thick. I Have No Problem Meeting Guys and They Say I'm Pretty and Have A Great Personality, but They Just Want To Be My Friend. I Do Realize Everyone Has Their Own Personal Type or Standards Or Whatever, but I Know If I Was A Guy, I'd Want A Thicker Woman. Don't Get Me Wrong, There Is Nothing Wrong With Thin Women, but I Just Get Tired Of Seeing All These Guys Who Want To Be Just Friends, Dating These Little Itty Bitty Girls. I Can Also Understand A Guy Wanting A Girl Who Is In Shape and Athletic, but When Most Of Those Guys Say That, They Mean They Want A Thin Girl. Because I Am In Shape and Athletic, I Played Basketball and Softball All Through Middle School and High School, and I Am A Hip-Hop Dancer. So, I'm Not Tryin To Start Any Arguements With Anyone, I'm Really Just Curious Why So Many Men Only Want Small Girls.
From what I've observed in RL and on this list, women who are slimmer seem to have better luck finding mates. "Thick," "voluptuous," "big," "curvy," "proportional" - all strike me as fundamentally dishonest euphemisms. Wow - would I love to see a profile that read "I'm overweight"! If that's truly nothing to be ashamed of - or offers no romantic disadvantage - why not just state it outright?
I see soooo many facially pretty ladies on CS...god, I would love to rope 'em up and drag them to my gym for a few months, and then reap the rewards afterward (I mean the tips, of course).

Oh, ... and, Kryssi, like you (I am sure) know - it's not all of them, there is enough of those who would "chase" you anyways. I was just talking about the ones for whom you being 135 ponds makes you virtually invisible. Not that you would want or need to change for them as long as you are healthy and fit.

By the way, congrats on your finding love! (You're one of the people I was thinking of when I said that the slimmer girls seem to have better luck finding men.)

It's shallow to want someone whom you consider attractive, Laura? In any case, there are many non-shallow reasons for wanting to be physically fit - health being one of them - and the truth surely is that a majority (a very large majority) of men would prefer someone who is reasonably fit and looks that way. Nothing good ever comes from denying basic realities, even if they are inconvenient or painful.

Hi Jeff,
from my experience: many men are UNREASONABLY after a woman being too thin. The truth is at 125-135lbs range and being to a gym 4-5 days a week, I looked much healthier than at 112 and not finding time for gym at all. Those men who magically started noticing me at that time would also tell me it's too thin... with a lust oozing out of every pore of their bodies while they would say so
