HondoLaneNJ: Doctors spend a lot of money to go to school for their chosen profession. Nothing is free in this world.

Why are the poor, poor? What did they do or not do, to get themselves in that predicament? Address *that* before you start stealing from hard working people to cover their butts...

I've *had* to choose between putting gas in my Jeep or eating...not fun, but I upgraded my skill set and got past it. Whatever happened to a "hand up" instead of a "hand out"?

Affluent people? Little class envy there?

The children are the responsibility of the parents. I have no interest in being responsible for someone elses kids...Find the parents and put them in jail before you ask me for help: I'm all tapped out....emotionally AND financially.

No offense but, some may think that its a "right" to health care, but it's also a responsibility for EVERYONE to take care of their bodies. Not drink, smoke, eat like crap...not that I am any paragon of virtue when it comes down to it, but we cannot forget or abrogate the responsibility of the individual...

Health care is NOT a right...you have the "right" to purchase coverage if you can afford it: but you DON'T have the right to expect everyone else to foot the bill...
You even forgot the Exorbitant Rates for Malpractice-Insurence Doctors have to foot these days.
Then people wonder about the Cost of Healthcare these daysfrustrated uh oh

FreeHappy: Quality, Affordable and Portable Coverage for All

* Obama's Plan to Cover Uninsured Americans: Obama will make available a new national health plan to all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, to buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress. The Obama plan will have the following features:

Guaranteed eligibility. No American will be turned away from any insurance plan because of illness or pre-existing conditions.

Affordable premiums, co-pays and deductibles.

Subsidies. Individuals and families who do not qualify for Medicaid or SCHIP but still need financial assistance will receive an income-related federal subsidy to buy into the new public plan or purchase a private health care plan.

What is wrong with the above? That sounds fine to me, especially with pre-existing conditions!

And how is he going to do this? Tax increase anyone? Oh that must be one of the many things he's going to tax that top 5%. Girl, you're quoting his exact site. Of course its going to sound glowing. But the fact of the matter is, the above is known as the beginning stages of socialism. You do know that Canada has this system in place in their country right? Now, you should be aware that more Canadians seek out American physicians for serious ailments. Take a peek at this article. and start talking about Universal Health Care again. But at the most primitive level, yes you're correct, our healthcare system needs changed, but going ONE way or the other is NOT the answer, and people fail to realize that by electing Barack Obama, we'll be getting that far left choice sooner rather than later. With McCain, I doubt we'll see very much difference, unless you start writing letters to your congressman (or woman) and actually have some ideas! It's absolutely ridiculous to think that "your" way is the right way, and that's why I've become a student of several schools of thought, but at the most basic sense, when your RIGHT to CHOOSE has been taken away, then by god, that breaks my constitution and pisses on it.

Fallingman: Well that explains it! Of course! Re-start the Cold War - we missed it.

But at least Bush is "standing up to it"!

Seems to me that those that are talking 'cold war' seem to be in Moscow and the Kremlin at this time. Why? Because 10 defensive
interceptor missiles are being placed into eastern Europe. Countries that Russia had taken off their targetting list.

Now with this formiable US military presence, they get the honor of being put back on the target list of the Russians. What punk.

And Georgia gets the pleasure of a Russian invasion. Why? Well because two Georigan provinces where the ethnic ratio was 75% Russian (Ossetian) and 25% Georgian.....the Georgian were doing ethnic cleansing and had attacked some Russian peace keepers.

The Russian peacekeepers should not have been inside Georgia proper in the first place. They reason the ethnic portions are like that was in the 1999 conflict.....it was the Ossetians did the ethnic cleansing....they were both about 50/50 then.

Still waiting the names of the Russian peacekeeper killed at the check point....so we can confirm them. Still reading Russian disinformation (White's passort) on Americans being as advisors to the Georgian military. Still seeing Russians inside Georgia proper. Again more punk.

So if one takes the idea that saber rattling is part of the cold war.....seems to me like it is Russia with the scaber and blade.
Seems to me that cold war Russia had a history of such events.
Hungary is an example.

But if they want the cold war......it gets a lot colder in Russia......when that trans Siberian pipeline gets played with......the Georgians are only a couple of 100s miles from it. Oh......yes that does effect the Russian export of crude to Europe as well......so it might get a little frosty there as well.

HondoLaneNJ: Provocation or an opportunity to expand NATO and halt communism. The fact is, Georgia seceded and Florida didn't.

I wouldn't miss Florida...

And the world has been dangerous loooonnngg before Bush.

I would miss Florida. Make us part of Venesula and with el Preidente for life Chavez at the helm......they would be flying Shokios out of Homestead instead of F-22s. The F-22 is a much better bird.

But the giggle aside. Chavez has several of his top people....get caught in some illegal drug activities......all of a sudden the US Ambassadors to Venesula, to Boliva, to Nicargua are sent home for
early vacations. What does that say?

Tells me that these countries are supporting Chavez.....and maybe they also are involved in illegal drug trafficing with them. Chavez says to them...hey some of my people got caught....I need to poke the eye of the gringos some...join me or your drug operations might get flipped.

It was only 3 tons of illegal drugs that the Venezulan officals got busted on. Not sure if in Venezula that is under the weight for
prosecution....here in the US...is considered a tad above the limit.

That laptop computer that the Colombians got from the FARCs leader in the cross border Bolivan raid is paying off. That is how they made the link to the Venesulan leaders.LOL.....I remember earlier saying....
Chavez was dirty like Noreiga of Panana....an early prediction of things to come.

Now he does have problems with a potential US invasion. We don't like narco terrorist leaders running countries. Nor should you.

I guess.....McCain campain plan about Palin and then making her with draw is all about gaining Time and beside chosing a candidate for VP who sure have a lot to explain to American public and some body who will make people "forget" all about McCains Super heavy past ......

So far this strategy has been a success I beleive

Lets wait and see------maybe I am totaly wrong about this prediction but still I am so sure about this one !

It will be like.......

McCain the "Martyr" who made Palin with draw even she brought more attention to his campain ......and McCain did it for the sake of the country!

teacherman: what a coincidence that EU backed off the sanctions bandwagon when Russia said they'd close the pipeline...!!!!!!!!!

Yep...the oil card is one of Russia biggest. They have used it in the Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland......but if Europe like the US can slip from imported oil from them.....then it become moot card to play.

Hey EU guys.....build those windmills...make those hybrid cars....put up those nuclear plants. Do it for the exact same reason we want to be energy free of OPEC. You want to do it to be energy free of Russia.

Why be holden to Russia or OPEC? It is crazy to let them have that much influence over you. Leaders in Europe knew the right thing to
do on the Russian/Georgia issue was sanctions but were not in any position to do it.

The sooner both get there.....the better off this old world will be.

alabamabebe: Please, Obama isn't about change. He's doing the same thing Democrats have always done, promise the little people prosperity by taking it from the rich people, exploiting class envy. I like rich people, if it weren't for them, none of the rest of us would have jobs. And no country has ever taxed itself into prosperity.

Fallingman: Well, let's see....until recently Georgia was part of the Soviet Union, or Russian empire if you prefer! Supposing Florida got notions of seceding and joining an alliance with Russia (or even Venezuela) to help surround and keep check on the US......how would you Palinites feel about that? Of course NATO members are bound to help each other. That is why bringing Georgia in is simply a provocation of Russia.....what is the point? Making the world a more dangerous place has been the hall mark of the Bush Administration. Why not break with that scary tradition?

So Georgia shouldn't have the same degree of freedom that you possess? dunno Personally, I think it's all about russian oil and gas....the only reason Europe won't confront Russia.

Fallingman: Errrm.....Russia isn't Communist anymore....in fact it is probably just as capitalist as the US. The Russian problem at the moment is that they think that as a large independent nuclear power they don't have to do what the US tells them to. Silly Russians!

I didn't say that the world wasn't dangerous before Bush just that he has done a lot to make it MORE dangerous
Extremely Fascist,if you look a bit closer how it's Economy is controlled! conversing

"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of one million is only a statistic."

Ever since those words have rolled off of Stalin's tongue, it has been an unofficial policy of the USSR/Russian government. It will only be worse in the years to come.

Speaking of Russia - their market is hurting today.

***************************************************
Russian shares suffered their steepest one-day fall in more than a decade on Tuesday, losing up to 20 per cent, as a sharp slide in oil prices and difficult money market conditions triggered a rush to sell.

The heads of the Russian central bank, the finance ministry and the financial market regulator met on Tuesday night for an emergency discussion on ways to halt the crisis.

Earlier, trading had been suspended on both the Micex and RTS stock exchanges as investors ignored assurances by Russian officials and a cycle of distrust set in amid liquidity fears.

Margin calls forced domestic traders to liquidate positions and brokers pulled credit lines. At least one Moscow bank failed to meet payments.

The ruble-denominated Micex Index closed 17.75 per cent down, the sharpest one-day drop since the August 1998 financial crisis, while the dollar-denominated RTS index closed down 11.47 per cent, its lowest level since January 2006.
**************************************************

If oil prices keep falling they will be back to needing all the oil revenue they can get and the pipeline in Georgia will say open no matter what the EU does.
