woody636: 1st meeting - coffee or drinks and go from there. 1st date - everything is open! Maybe a ride in a glider?? Something fun for both of us.
At times I was able to have some of a connection before the meeting. Not always the case though. Still like to go for that walk in case I was wrong. Can make that long or short. If there is a connection, well take it further from there.
I don't like dinner as a first date because it's not always comfortable to eat and talk. A second date, though, yes.
I hate movies as a first date because you can't talk at all...or at least, you shouldn't out of respect for the others watching it.
I would rather go for a walk in a public park or go play miniature golf (putt-putt in my neck of the woods). Or go to an amusement park or the zoo. Something where you can have fun and talk, then continue the date if you're having a lot of fun.
hollandgirl: Personally I like to go for a walk, good place to talk. I don't like to go for dinner etc.
Absolutely! I don't like the "coffee" or "dinner" idea either when I first meet someone. A walk on a neutral territory is the best. Mind you, the first time I meet someone, I don't want to take them to any particularly favourite places of mine, or go to an event that I am really interested in. So, just a walk!

so he won't even see the car I drive!
A park is good, or a cafe for a drink,
good and short to test the water so to speak.......
