That's great. Do you practise often? I used to much more when I was closer to the country as there was a place to go without having to disturb the neighbors. ;-}
I did taekwondo when I lived in San Diego. Tried karate when I lived in Antioch. Prefer the taekwondo, the stances are easier on my knees. I wouldn't mind getting back into it if I found a place here in Redding.

keytone: I am curiuos how many people are practising Martial Arts and What Kind?
Right at the moment, I've had to stop again for a bit. However, I was just studying Kung Fu (praying mantis form) and Tai Chi...both from the same Sifu.
Over the years I've studied Shaolin, Tai Kwan Do, T'ang Su Do, Aikido, Judo, and a form of Kung Fu that was full contact...which this other school was also. I prefer that instead of belt systems training for exhibition since mine is for defense purposes.

Tai Kwan Do Kung Fu Judo Every art was full contact I got tired of broken ribs from people who wouldn-t pull their punches or especially side kicks. I didn't like sparring with men--just to get tougher for tournament At my age all I want it for is weight management and flexibilty plus the mental/body control. If you don't find the right DoJo you can pick up bad habits if they don't focus on mental/body control. I was lucky my instrucor at the time A United States nrown belt champion later a black belt with numerous titles became my fiance in college He was a great instructor and a great AFLCIO attotney now
Tai Kwan Do, 13 yrs-same dojo, eventually taught kids

Martial is a state of mind. 400 years ago I would have been a Knight Errant. Today, I'm just a poet.
Gone are the old days when arguments were simple. If you liked the Beaver's instead of the Ducks, I could just chop your head off and there'd be no argument.
Now I just have to get by with re-enactment groups like the SCA
