Does the Atheist have a soul? (269)
Aries01: Athiest main argument for the absence of a deity is that is defies scientific explaination.... spirituality is as difficult to explain spiritually... Athiests as far as I am aware believe that we just are, and then we die.... no point therefore in anything spriritual.. it would serve no function....

Not all atheists believe this. Parapsychology has proven there is more to the psyche than what we can observe. Its a matter of inference. There is simply no proof, via inference or otherwise, that there is an omnipotent/omniscient creative consciousness behind this unseen aspect of our nature...

But parapsychology itself is not very accepted rite .. 
I think atheism can coexist with being spiritual or having faith in some higher power which neednt be a symbolic deity or god ...
So .. thinking that way atheism can be marked by a touch of ambiguity .. to say i dont know we just die and no clue after that ..
Sooo .. i think it is acceptable to have the concept of a soul even if you dont believe in " god "

There are certain aspects of parapsychology that are impossible to deny. The forces at work are undeniable; the source of these forces is what's under such intense and polarized debate. Traditional psychology wants to discount it as all related to the individual psyche, but I think it's more than that. In the sense of someone like Edgar Cayce, its hard to deny the validity of his remedies, even though it is his personal contention that it all comes from God. God is not the issue. The effect is the issue, and I'm not too concerned with the definition of the source other than the recognition that it is there...wherever "there" is...
