....or grounded.

Went to the airport a couple of weeks ago to get my son. Halfway to Seville he rang me to say that the plane he was on had to emergency brake and abort take off because, they were told, a 747 was in the way!!!!

Then he rang me to say that a pilot of another aircraft had spotted lots of fuel coming out the engines of his aircraft!!!!!

They were on the apron at Stansted airport for two hours!!! Passengers just wanted to get off the plane but the cabin crew would not let them!!!Finally one passenger threatened to sue the pants off R...air if they didn,t let him off. So off he got.

When I got to Seville airport the airline office staff professed to know nothing about the delay!!! This was clearly a lie as a plane full of passengers going back to London were waiting for the same plane to arrive here!!!

When I asked the staff there to inform me when the aircraft was airborn en route to Spain the refused. So I had to sit it out for nearly three hours, going back and fore to ask if the plane was safely airborn.

To make matters worse Seville airport was effectively closed. No shops, no restaurant facilities, nowhere near enough public benches...so most of that three hours was spent standing and aimlessly walking around.

The good news is that he did finally arrive safe and sound and we had a great holiday together.banana

That is a reasonable excuse for a try a little later.

We had a similar experience coming in to Barcelona this weekend, the plane had to abort landing just above the runway because the plane before us still were on it ... Interesting powers in play when we accelerated upwards in a steep angle after a moment of "can...can not...can....can not"

Security is all the matters today. They tell nothing any longer dunno

But leaking fuel is bad. As bad as it gets, really.

Maybe they were just watching reruns of Fawlty Towers. Remember Manuel...."I kno' nuttin".

Glad the kid made it safe.

I used to work overseas for a while and the company used to fly us on a russian scraptube with wings. I never had so much faith in God.
