HJFinAZ: People in the U.S. have become sheep, there are none that are willing to stand up and take our country back. Everyone runs on fear but is willing to do nothing about it..
I am with you for the most part. I don't think too many people are enthralled with either candidate, really, but there is no one else willing to pick up the mantle. Colin Powell flatly turned it down and I think he may have made a better President than either McCain or Obama.
He reminds me of Eisenheur, one of our countries better Presidents. We need someone strong with good common sense and no fear to do what is necessary. Truman had balls also, but we don't raise those kinds of leaders anymore. Everyone today is self-serving.
I'm with you in thinking people from another country who don't have a clue as to what is going on here, should keep their mouth shut...they have enough bs in their own country to worry about.
hollandgirl: Could someone explain to me that of all the people living in the US these two candidates are the best it could come up with?
Canada has an election coming up soon, It takes only a few month from the announcement until the election. Why why, does it take sooooo long for the Americans?
Considering that whatever happens in the US is going to have ripple effects on the rest of the planet is enough reason for anybody who is not directly involved by being a US citizen to express their opinion/fears/choices in regards to elections in the US.
Having such a powerful nation choose somebody to hold the most powerful seat of government is surely enough of a reason for us outsiders to comment.
The entire scenario being presented by the Republican candidates, particularly Palin, is to say the least, scary. I don't believe the way forward for humanty is confrontation, and this is exactly the message that has so far been pumped by the Republican machine.
Fear seems to be the strongest component in their language. Fear of the unknown and ever present enemy that is ready to destroy all that the US stands for.
It is time for change, and even knowing the inexperience the man carries, were I to have a vote I would certainly have no other choice but Obama.
What amazes me on these forums,is the fact other countries are always downing America.U never hear any of the good we have done at the expense of our our sons and daughters and Tax dollers. Most threads say keep ur nose out. and then another will be asking why we r not in the african countries helping.but never mention all the food shipped to the countries like Sudan and others who have had a disaster. We have always been right there for the underdog and to help.IMO it takes a lot of guts to come on here and diss us.Remember ur country may be the next one asking for help.If McCain and Palin are so stupid.,why are they running for the white house, and all u nay sayers are on a dating site dissing them, calling them stupid. Its really kind of funny in a way. I am with JLw, let everybody handle their own problems and we will handle ours, One thing for sure we never have anybody step up to help us.
