Many years ago I met a woman (Barbara Ryan) that has been the closest thing to a sister I have ever know. Several years ago she moved to Oregon, married a wonderful man that used to be her neighbor and I had the honor of "giving her away". A few times I have gone to visit Barb & RC.
A few years back she was diagnosed with cancer and has a 5 year battle. Because of me taking care of my mom and mom not being able to make the trip to Oregon, we had talked of then coming to AZ for a few days, it never transpired.
Wednesday evening while I was at the cabin, RC called me to let me know Barb had passed in her sleep at 2:00AM that morning.
My suggestion; if there is anyone in your life that has been close and you have not seen or been in contact with them, do so quickly. We never know what the future may hold..
I will surely miss Barbara but in my heart, I know she is in a better place..
HJFinAZ: The only loss was my NOT finding the time and the means to go see a friend before it was to late.
The gain for me was this woman and her husband being a very important part of "MY" life..
"Friends" are few but they are friends. Acquaintances are many but neither one has taken the time to turn the acquaintance into a friendship.
AWWWWWWWEEEEEEEE...Sorry to heart that HJ....I guess when we think we don't have the time to catch up with friends...we better make time because death waits for nobody!!!!!!!!!!!
