Sommerauer71: The difference between those ages is two years, my daughter was very different at 16 than my son was.. Than I was when I was 16.
So if a person is only what, ten years younger than you, that is a kid?
So that makes anybody under 30 a kid to me...
That is beside my point! I am not talking about addition and substraction, i'm merely saying that there isn't much difference between a 16, 17, and 18, year old, in regards to who among them is good for a man over 30.
Would you be happy if your mature 16 year old, dated a 35 year old? Should a 17.something year old be considered an adult, old enough to date a 50 year old, next tuesday on her birthday? Some mature early, some don't, but i don't think there's one mature enough to date a man too mature. That's my point!
This is my opinion, i am a kid to women your age, which i really don't mind at all. Not at all!
cristina: Yes, generations are different but if you are a minor, it does make a difference. Don't say that people 10 years your junior are kids. I believe Lushy was clear on that at the previous page.
My Father was 30 years older than my mother, and they were the only ones in our area that did have a descent marriage.18 by all laws in Canada is past the age of consent. Most times it is when people butt in on a couples relationship that break ups and arguments start. One may or may not like it but it is their choice,I would butt out and wish them all the best.
X_REBEL: That's why i added the keywords "emotionally & mentally" mature...in the first place...never say never cause one might meet your perfect soulmate tomorrow, half your age.
even at half my age he would be a plaything for my daughters
X_REBEL: so there's a 28% "chance" you might end up with an 18 year old? and it's good morning to me(12hrs ahead of your time)...and good afternoon yourself
No, my dreaming is about 38 year olds at the moment, the fool that I am, although not getting much sleep at the moment as I am 'busy'
There are certain levels that I would not go to, one to upset my children and rightly or wrongly, after many discussions, that my children and I have over dinner, pretty smart young people, the topic has been raised, they would not like to see their mother with a person who could be their friend, I have seen it, with a mother who dated her son's friend, it was hard for him, the son, seeing his mate over the breakfast table each morning.
I have no wish to compromise my cbildren's feelings in this matter.
There are plenty of men my age around, many here, but it just aint gonna happen, however much you think that 'all' women at 40 would. Coz here is one who will not. So you are wrong.
lusciousmile: That is beside my point! Well if that's the case and most woman feel this way, then men are obviously more open minded than woman.

I respect your opinion.
It was the only which was my point...
And you missed that completely.
How would you feel, if I said to you 'you are only a kid, therefore I do not think your opinion is worth anything?'
That is a bit like Rebel saying that all 40 year old women would 'enge' with an 18 year old.

I am an 18 year old girl and this thread caught my eye.
I think you need to concentrate on your own relationships instad of criticizing others'.
My preferance has always been older men, my last serious relationship was with a 30 year old man. He did not take advantage of me, nor was he going through a mid-life crisis or having an affair. I have been seeing men around that age range and yes, up to fifty years.
I dont think a single one of you can judge, I'm never going to love a man of my own age.
If anyone would like to raise the issue with me, i'd love to hear from you; we can have a debate - you know where I am.

Sommerauer71: You just have two areas, in your brain, don't you?
Men and women!
Yes i'm actually busy with research for the university comparing the two and the results are staggering...men's brains are 20% more developed than woman.
X_REBEL: Yes life experience is generally measured by one's age...but remember there are people out half your age with perhaps twice as much life experience...
Life experience....think about it...experience in life...whatever way 1 says it it comes back to same.. It cannot be present in an 18 year old as they havnt been on the planet long enough to gain it.. I accept that life circumstances can make it seem a person of that age is more mature but deep down they are usually not,its a front to seem more grown up..they can talk the talk but theres no foundation supporting it ie; age
