I've always said I wanted to be composted, it's the most environmentaly friendly way to go. My genuine answer is probably cremation, though I don't know why.
Because some people want to leave a mark somehow that they touched the earth and can't deal with the insignificance of their life in the grand scheme of things.Because some relatives that are left behind need something somewhere that is tangable to pay respects, visit, cry ,take confort, make decisions, you name it...people seem to derive a great deal from a grave site...That being said...I have no kids so, unless I go before the dog, screw it I think I'll go for cremation....
I want my kids to cremate me and do whatever with the ashes, it's up to them. There IS something to be said by what Lily said tho... I wish I had a place to go to "be with" my mom, she's with me all the time but there's no place special. Never had closure to her passing so it's a catch 22.
And why cremation? I HATE WORMS! you should see me bait a hook to fish... Brian thinks it's a riot
Yup I hate worm too but again...childless wonder so...I won't have to deal with them for the sake of others...unless there is some cosmic twist that see's me pregnant this stage in the game
Personally, I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered to the four winds.....I'd like to think that I can have the same freedom in death, that I've also had in life, but thats just me...
LOL...If they embalm you you wouldn't have to worry. There have been cases of people being embalmed while still alive but the chances are so rare and I think would of been more of a risk in the past.
im sure you know but ill tell you anyway, in some countrys they have found scratch marks on the inside of the coffin so it does happen but probably not so much these days
Did you know that Edgar Allen Poe was so afraid of being buried alive, that each night before bed, he placed a note on his nightstand that said "Only sleeping, do not bury."?
I'd like to be burnt. I've heard of coffins been excavated, and scratch marks been discovered on the insides of the lids. Cases of people been buried alive are more common than you would believe!
I read some figures in a book once, but I can't recall them. It was more prevalent in the 19th century. I might try and find out and get back to you, but that's a big might.
