I can assure you that it's just the same for us single dads you know, women are very quick on saying they'd be interested with a guys with kids, but I think mainly it's those guys who only have them on a part time basis. They soon seem to think twice when they realise your how much of your times really taken up and how restricted you are.

Hello, oh I know it is, I mentioned 'both' parents in my rant to Rebel...
X_REBEL: I agree and understand what you're saying and yes it's a shame that there are more bad single parents out there, than good one's, perhaps society has become too lazy and most of the good values gone in todays life...
There are many bad parents too. Not just single ones.
Soceity becomes what people make of it, the UK for instance, has the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in Europe, odd that, given that our contraception is free.
Lack of education that is and that is down to parents who blame the school, certainly in less affluent area.
There was a huge scandal in the UK around three years ago, an 11 year old girl was pregnant and at the same time a 62 year old woman was carrying a child, she had paid for IVF, was a finacially secure, energetic, healthy woman, with a husband, could offer a child a wonderful, loving home. the country was in uproar.
Then along comes the 27 year old mother, of the 11 year old, telling the reliable source that is the 'Sun' newspaper, that she was proud of her 11 year old, because she had given up cigarettes, and that she would be supporting her 11 year old daughter in the raising of her child. And it was the school's fault that she had not been taught about contraception.
Now, that is wrong with soceity, because I know which child of those two will have a loving grounding parent and home.

So you are saying that all parents who are older produce better children?
Which can be the case, I agree, I was young, afraid, but knuckled down and got on with it, I had good people around me who helped me and I had a good mentor and guider with work, so I was able to manage, plus of course I had a husband too.
As my own children reach their 20's, I am 40, we grow and learn together, as I did with my own father.
But I still have that parental guidance, that they need, when they need some help and support, and now they are standing on their own two feet, it was the perfect time for me to meet a person.

Personally, i've never dated anyone with kids. Am i turned off or afraid by this? Turned off, no. Afraid, yes. What single person wouldn't be. It's a huge lifestyle change. However, if i'm interested in someone, it wouldn't deter me in the slightest. I would give it my all, try to be the best possible father figure i could, and a good boyfriend/husband.
If a man can love a woman that is not his own flesh and take her to be as his own flesh, why can't a man love her child and that child be as his own flesh also.

You are a Captain among men Rilly and you are an amazing man.
Captain Save-A-Ho, you will forever be a noble sir and for that Rilly i commend you
