TechnicalEcstasy: they did me once when i was 17. oh nevermind i was 20 and it was LSD and i was driving down a big 4 lane road here in atlanta. no time to stop.. i just opened the door and went on about it. i ended up driving home since i was only a mile away and parked it. omg to be so irresponsible and wreckless. thankfully i never hurt anyone back then but myself.

Yeah but had you been drinking too?

I do have to give you a scold for driving under the influence but pay it no heed, it was time ago and Im sure you wouldnt do it again.......

trish123: That sounds brilliant to me, could do with a laugh

The stuff people are smoking now is pretty strong for sure sure but when I was in my teens we had all sorts of good stuff from all over the world too, its out there for the finding its just that in the last few yrs it got harder to get hold of for security at airport type reasons so people have adapted technology instead - im not into the chemical processes which are involved too much............

they are all the time coming up with new drugs. but they all seem to follow along the lines of something else.
but how about this whole DMT thing? you can have a frog as a pet that emits venom from its skin, dry it, smoke it, and have the most intense hallucinogenic experience of your life that lasts for about 15 minutes. if i had found out about this 15 years ago i would have jumped in the car and headed for the colorado river with a butterfly net to go frog hunting without thinking twice about it.
i must be gettin old.

I really can not understand why alcohol is legal and these things have the whole of the propaganda machine thrown at them - what are folk scared of mewonders - these things bring such warmth, foresight and unity into people and alcohol makes them aggressive and crazy yet its legal - theres something wrong there........... dunno

i wasnt tripping and then decided to drive. i was impatient, couldnt wait to get home, dropped a couple, 2, 3 hits, got in the car, and the race began.

i know what your talking about. being stuck to the floor.

there was a guy in my home town we called the hatchet man. he was real smart and in college he was like a guinea pig for the "chemists" on campus. some over doses runined his life. and his whole family was affected by it.
he used to walk around town talking to himself and all that. your basic LSD tragedy. like syd barrett.

Its really sad to see that sort of stuff happen but my theory is that all the chemical, man made stuff has its victims and they would succumb to whatever was readily available in whichever society or surroundings they found themselves

addictive personalities play out their existence around us on a daily basis, they get into that "I cant cope without" mindset and only the lucky few ever escape it..........

stuff that gives physical addictions like alcohol and heroin should be banned out of existence if you ask me sigh

Dutch ban on "magic" mushrooms to take effect

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The Netherlands will ban the sale and cultivation of all hallucinogenic "magic" mushrooms from next week, the latest target of a country seeking to shed its "anything goes" image.
amsterdam is a beautiful city with culture and architecture that will flat out blow you away, but it just lost some of its charm.

no longer can i call amsterdam the most wonderful place on earth.

oh well. i hear ibiza is cool. anyone been there?

I followed your link, read the story...came back to your comments.....read your postings in this thread.....and am now totally confused confused

Are you sad that the Dutch are banning magic mushrooms, sad at the kids death ....what ?

You are not a drug user you say...so I would presume that this step by the Dutch would be a good one.

yea, heroin has wreaked havoc on the population. but noones holding a gun to anyones head making them do it.
same thing for alcohol even tho it is one of the most dangerous things in existance. there are lots of people who handle it responsibly, so you cant alienate them.

but its been fun talkin with ya

Smoking some herb here and there won't do any damage to anyone. Just like having some beers here and there.

The problem is when somebody starts getting stoned everyday, but I've seen some successful people manage smoking herbs everyday and maintain a life of normalness and responsibility. Some have some kind of strange threshold for the THC...like it's coffee for them. Others I've seen become lazy and have no motivation in life but to just get stoned. And some of those people go on to the heavier drugs and away from the society and the everyday real world.

Drinking every day...I've never seen anyone manage that successfully. They go from hero to zero really fast, and really destructive...like destructive in terms of meth-head levels.

Oliver Stone is known to be on hallucinogens when he does his films...I think his film making would not be of the same quality without it. It works for some, and not for others. Strange.

My grandmother was a very smart woman... she always said "Everything in moderation"

Living in Ibiza I see a lot of the "drug culture", but all of these things if used sensibly and not frequently can definitely enhance a night out or in with friends. Dropping an E and having a glass or two of wine isn´t going to mess up anyone... dropping 7 E´s, doing a gram of cocaine and killing a bottle of vodka with a bunch of redbull is just plain stupid.... doh

As far as pot goes... I can´t smoke it, it messes me up more then any other drug I´ve ever used and leaves me completely incoherent.... oh for the days of crap weed that just gave you the giggles and the munchies....laugh

sorry ive been absent.

well of course the kids death is sad, but what im sad about is not being able to buy mushrooms legally in amsterdam. i know youll still be able to get em just like anything else, but it wont be the same as going to the smart shop.

banning mushrooms isnt the answer. banning people like her from getting a hold of them would be better.

how many people die every year from alcohol related accidents and noone is banning that?

aberfoyle: You are not a drug user you say...

did i say that? confused

Hi, I wondered where you'd gone - wb wave

Its great living where I do, I only have to go walking in the fields round late October and the mushies are growing all over the place laugh perfectly natural and untampered with........

Believe me! I have seen the sadness caused by alcohol misuse but have never even seen anyone have a bad trip off mushies - the general opinion on this is that there would be an underlying mental problem in the first place.......

ive had pot pretty much paralyze me for hours on a few different occasions. the first time when i was 14. and the last was last year about this same time.

i didnt care for it much at all. the first time because i was the only one out of about 6 people that went thru it and it kind of freaked me out. the last time only because i didnt expect it and i had important things to do which were delayed by a few hours until i snapped out of it.

its only really good weed that does this(obviously) and i have tried to recreate to decide if i liked it or not, but was unsuccessful.

they are near me too. so much so that one year they were all over the local news. i remember hearing something waaaay back about there is another mushroom that looks identical but will kill you so that was an effective deterrent for me to just wait for the grateful dead to come around and get em then.

drinking and driving, shrooms and driving demerol and driving prozac and driving, librium and driving, all every single prescription or natural substance that alters the mind should be against the law.

damn this mentality if your in an altered state by something illegal you are guilty of a crime while if you on legal medication the rules are different.

I hear too many times people stating nay bragging that they don't do illegal drugs yet when looking for car keys they pull out 2 and 3 bottles of Prescribed drugs yet they are allowed on the road......
yeah theres a double standard that only gods knows how many lives are lost because of it.
