pretzelman: No...he was a cop. And my father

Oh Lord,

well an awful story ,

but I do commend you for being such a

strong person thumbs up

its very scary to think the one who was supposed to

protect you , was in fact the one who hurt you the most !

But so glad you lived to tell the tale

and that you have been able to live with it !

I'm OCD about some things too.

I can't stand for the bathtub NOT to be rinsed out after it's used.

I can't stand to see dirty clothes laying around in the floor.

I can't stand to see a garbage can piled up and running over.

....just to name a few!laugh

livinglarge: I have a thing about washing my hands after using a loo in a resturant or any other public place.

When I do wash my hand there I will soap up my hands and wash the tap, as I think if you turned on the tap with dirty hands ,so to speak ,the dirt will still be there, so I don't like a dirty tap

I absolutely refuse to use public bathrooms. I will either hold it or drive home. I always make sure I've gone before I leave the house so no emergencies pop up. :)

Oh, and Sassy reminded me. I'm a compulsive speller. Sometimes as I speak or think, I'll spell the words in my head.

And evenness. It drives me crazy if things aren't even/level. Also, this is weird. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I'll try. Example - If I scratch one arm, then I have to scratch the other too... in the same place, the same amount of times. With everything that has an opposite; not all the time, but alot.

Damn... I really am weird. moping help

you are a gr8 lady and so brave ,

With friends like I have here such as yourself LL and many
others, it helps me get through my days and also the
nights when I have so much pain going on I can't sleep. I
just jump on here and usually end up laughing before the
sun comes up many times. hug

I use the washroom but yeah I can understand people who
don't like too,

Lana , I went through a phase of doing the same thing as you
would have to touch my other arm even if I touched a door with my right arm ,hand it didnt matter , I had to do the same with my left arm or hand,
I was about 9 or so when I started doing that and did it for about 2 years,
it did stop though ,I'm no Fraud but I think it, ie the compulsion, had to do with the onset of puberty dunno at 11.
No you are not weird as I it will go away when you are ready for it 2 , other than that ,think of it as a distraction !
perhaps stuff on your mind , it will work it self out !
