OK...a post to get this back OT for you, Tamarin.

Roses are very therapeutic medicinally and in aromatherapy. Not only the flower of love, they are actually also a flower essence used to lift the mood. For centuries, people have used them as one of the primary flowers to send a message of romance, as well. Overall, a wonderful flower that grows in many parts of the world.

The most romantic flowers will be the one that carries a special significance. Perhaps it is the flower you received on your first date, the ones in your wedding bouquet, a special colour or flower that makes you stare in wonder. These are the romantic flowers because you took time to pay attention, thus transforming an ordinary flower into a symbol of love and passion.

My personal fav's.....

Sweetpea - delicate pleasure

Bluebells - my love for you is constant and everlasting

So ladies (or guys if they desire) what are yours?

Tamarin: Some may be planning something for Valentines to tell someone special how much you care... so here is a thread about the Rose.

From time immemorial beloveds have been compared to Roses.
Juggle rose around and we get Eros. Eros is the God of love.

Below are the sentiments expressed by the different hues of the rose.

Lavender - enchantment and uniqueness

Orange - fascination

Pink (dark) - thankfulness, friendship and admiration

RED - LOVE, RESPECT AND COURAGE

DEEP RED - BEAUTY AND PASSION

White - true love (purity)

Yellow - joy and friendship

Black - farewell

Peach - modesty

rosebuds - a heart of innocent love (youth)

DOZEN RED ROSES - I LOVE YOU

SINGLE RED ROSE IN FULL BLOOM - I LOVE YOU

tea roses - I'll remember always

Five red roses.......that's all they had in the shop

Four red roses.......I like even numbers and the others looked overblown

Three red roses.....I'm cheap but trying to look like I'm not

Two red roses.....I'm cheap and not trying to hide it

laugh
